Political reporters on Twitter are saying they are standing by for a Romney media availability on the video released today by Mother Jones of Romney at a May fundraiser speaking frankly of his thoughts on Obama's base voters and their entitlement mentality, aka the 47% who pay no federal income taxes.
The media and GOP-E have jumped ugly on Romney tonight.
Steve Holland, Reuters: Romney at press avail to respond to video says his comments weren't "elegantly stated," and "could have said it in a more effective way."
So if she is living off of SS checks, she is getting every dime she paid in, that was then spent by the government on other stuff, and therefore being paid back with money from younger worker’s checks, which we will never see.
Romney was not talking about her, nor demanding she pay more taxes.

There is no other issue. Those people who don't pay federal personal income taxes didn't chose to receive incomes low enough that they didn't have to pay!
Small correction: You are getting back what was earlier paid in to the system.

GOOD. He shouldn’t. What he said was true.
Correct and why his comments were not very well thought out, according to the audio/video.
But another Freeper made a good point. You can’t just write off 47% of the population. Then you assume you’ve got the other 53% and Romney doesn’t. He needs some of those 47% and can win some but not if they feel insulted.
The saving grace is going to be that many, if not most, of those 47% don’t believe he was talking about them. Most people truly want to contribute and do better. They don’t like handouts and will view Romney’s comments as directed to others and not them.
So, it was at a May fundraiser...but Mother Jones doesn’t release it until a month and a half before the election, right when Obama’s bounce is starting to fade?
Ah-huh. Nothing suspicious about that...
