Republican activists are incredulous: Why can't Republican Mitt Romney seem to break open a tight race with President Barack Obama given the nation's sluggish economy and conservative enthusiasm to beat the Democrat?
"He ought to be killing Obama, and he's clearly not doing that," said 32-year-old R.J. Robinson, one of the thousands of activists attending the annual Values Voters Summit this weekend. "He should be doing better."
Added Mike Garner, a 27-year-old hawking "Reagan was right" buttons at the meeting: "If Romney loses this election, the party really needs to do some soul-searching."
Their sentiments were echoed in interviews with more than a dozen GOP activists and social conservative leaders who attended the annual gathering focused on social and cultural issues and sponsored by the Family Research Council.
The summit was filled with rhetoric meant to fire up the party's base voters. Romney needs them to turn out in force at the polls in November and, between now and then, to convince others to do the same through extensive get-out-the-vote grassroots canvassing in swing-voting states...

With Romney, we ahve a flip flopper that designed ObamaCare and has been on just about any side of most issues. I'm sure he's better than Obama, but most can't tell the difference so why change.
Romney is winning this election. Undecideds break for challengers 2-1. Obama and his media minions are now in desperation mode.
If Romney loses this election, look for America like it or not to go into a second American revolution, mark my words.
Welcome to FR.
Question? Why do you keep posting that same exact post in every poll thread?
Do you have it saved in Word or something?
Are you trolling or what!
Youtube has a couple clips from the days when blue was used for the GOP and red for the Dems. 1980, NBC: It’s 8:15 pm on election night and John Chancellor and Tom Brokaw are declaring Reagan the winner. Already he had reached 270 votes in their projections. By the end of the night, it was something like Reagan 489, Carter 49. (This after circumstances like right now with wimpy foreign policy,
high gas prices or low availability, “country in wrong direction”).
Another clip from 84 shows a sea of blue, a GOP swimming pool. Mondale got 13 electoral votes—Minn. (he won barely) and D.C. That was it, worst Dem drubbing in history.
Chancellor remarks in first clip that in 76 they were up till about 3:30 am before they could declare Carter the winner. But ‘80? It was clear early Reagan had bet Jimmah, and big.
I don’t know if it’ll be a landslide. It could be close. Obama with the MSM on his side could win, but this could be a “surprising” win for Romney (especially given the slanted polls...plus those of us who WORK or don’t have landline phones aren’t counted, or we hang up on them, or they don’t bother calling us).
There may be long faces at MSNBC, etc,. on election night.
I still remember a couple days after the 04 election. I tuned into Air America for laughs. Al Franken and other moonbats were on and they sounded like they hadn’t slept all week. Gloomy, depressed, frustrated (and wondering how the GOP “stole” the election and how they could fight it).
Classic.
You got it, but the old msm wants to have you think otherwise.
Do you have a projected timeframe for this revolution?
If Romney loses couldn’t it be because this country; that is, its people, have changed beyond the powers to persuade them, staying within the principles of the Republican Party and conservatism? I know, Romney is a RINO, but is he not portrayed by the Left (Dems and Media) as a callous, uncaring, out-of-touch conservative, as is Ryan? On other side, if the Obamanation is re-elected, will it not be promises of cradle-to-grave goodies and empty rhetoric that have carried the day?
“the polls are wrong”.
There IS a huge conspiracy, which includes the unleashing of liberal trolls to demoralize us using methods such as this. I SEE THEM DOING IT FIRST HAND. I have never seen as many politico articles as I have in this election season. isn’t that evidence enough?
You people are woefully naive but this will become a self fulfilling prophecy if you don’t wake up.
Because a significant segment of the conservative base has been running around saying “better four more of BHO than four for the RINO”?
Or shilling for Virgil Johnson or Gary Goode?
Just guessin’.
Because he’s Romney. Its really that simple.
Maybe they are trying to get the word out. And so am I by the way. Besides, what is wrong with what he/she said?
Why isn`t Romney winning?
Three things come to mind:
1. A very powerful and persuasive pro-0bama “media.”
2. 100 million + people on the government dole, and wanting yet more.
3. A country, half of which still swoons at the sight and sound of 0bama.
Because I’m a Moderate! LOL!!!!!!GOP FOOLS!!!
“2nd American revolution”
If you`re talking about the shooting kind, no it won`t.
Wanna know who’s really winning?
Follow this simple rule:
He who runs the most negative ads is usually losing.
So, Who’s running the most negative ads right now?
I can’t answer that question, since I’m in a state that has no contest. But you swing state folks *can* answer .
Reagan won because he could explain conservatism in a clear, logical, compelling manner. Romney does not even try to. A leader can influence people’s beliefs rather than merely appeal to them.
Hey GOP-E, we told you so!
Something is up with Newsmax. Their consistent mantra of late is Romney is losing and isn't doing enough to propel his campaign and yet they TOTALLY ignore these D+ over-sampled polls and the fact that no matter what Romney says or does, the LMSM cherry picks what they cover (negative, at least in their meme) and otherwise ignore R and R. And I extend that BS-motivation to the posters that keep linking to them.
