I spent a good amount of time talking with a family friend who said she voted Obama because she was a democrat and her family always voted dem. She had no computer.

I shared some simple truths with her and subsequently got her to read a couple of things I printed out for her. In 2010 she re-registered and voted (R).

Here's the good part: like someone with a new love or new diet she began talking to everyone she knew and proudly shared what she had learned about government, taxes, business and basic freedoms. She ended up talking her two daughters (20 and 23) into registering and voting for the first time/ They went (R) also. I was personally responsible for 3 new voters, but think what we could do if just 1 out of 4 of us would make the effort to convert just one new voter!

This is EXACTLY the approach we should be taking. Bless you for this!

Your approach has so many advantages:
1. It works!
2. Cost effective. No need to donate money to any organization. Nothing siphoned off for the professional fundraisers and bureaucracy.
3. Doesn’t annoy anyone with an unwanted call from a stranger.

...and probably many more advantages that I haven’t thought of.

Great job, Baynative! (I’m still working on my niece who voted for 0. She’s good-hearted, but young and naive. I’m trying not to push too hard, which could have the effect of just making her dig her heels in to prove that she is “independent.”)

In 2010 she re-registered and voted (R).

A good portion of the problem is that most dem voters vote out of lack of knowledge. And, they have no idea they lack the proper knowledge; proper meaning original limited government, property rights, individual freedom - and how all these (and more) tie directly together. The notion that they lack this knowledge, let alone the notion of conveying even a small piece of it, cannot happen on the typical political phone call. These calls run on the paradigm that "touching" a voter enough times gets their vote, with calls, post cards, lawn signs, bumper stickers, ads, etc. Instead, the paradigm you used on this woman is really the most effective, most efficient, most long-lasting method to right our upside-down ship...
