Monica Lewinsky is shopping a top-secret book project, Page Six has exclusively learned. We’re told Lewinsky has been making the rounds with major publishers, who were all asked to sign nondisclosure agreements to take the meetings. It’s unclear who the front-runners are, but, says an insider familiar with the project, “I’m sure every major publisher was interested in hearing what she had to say.” The former White House intern who touched off the 1998 Bill Clinton scandal has given past interviews, but kept a very low profile since leaving for England in 2005 for the London School of Economics. Lewinsky’s rep said yesterday, “I cannot comment on anything at this point.”

Well, lets be fair here.
Well said. We really should stop attacking Monica. She was a young girl seduced by the President of the U.S. People with power / money do this every day (sadly), but to make her the subject of crude jokes is really not decent here at Free Republic.
I’ve been following this site for years and do so because of the better level of discourse and because I think we are a lot more civilized than those at DU, Salon or that ilk.
Let’s give her a break.
She probably has to sell a tell all to make money. As you said, kind of hard for her to get normal employment the rest of her life. Carry that burden around for a while.

Caution indeed. One of the names on that list of “suicides” is Officer Terrance Yeakey. There’s little doubt he was suicided. I’ve revisited the Oklahoma City bombing of late and find it interesting that the original Mena/Whitewater records were allegedly stored in the Murrah Building.
Clinton was just as brazen about his criminal past and Obama is about his fake past. Clinton used to joke with lefties about the right-wingers who were “making up crazy stories about me.”

I hope she thanks Linda Tripp publicly for saving her life (at great expense to Tripp’s own well-being).
She undoubtedly observed high living while she worked in DC....and she probably figures that this, too, could be hers. Maybe some day she can even snag a rich husband and be one of the beautiful peeple like DC society queen, Sally Quinn Bradlee.
I doubt if her top-secret book could be sold, edited and published before election day, but premature leaks could be a wonderful thing.

I’m going to take the opposing view here. Having lived in DC for 20+ years I’m familiar with there being numerous young, ambitious and predatory young women who seek out sexual encounters with powerful men as a way of climbing the career and social ladders. Monica Lewinsky certainly fell into this category, as did the late Chandra Levy and quite a few young women I knew over the years whos’ goals centered on bedding a Congressman/Senator regardless of whether that man was married.
This isn’t to excuse Bill Clinton (or Gary Condit or many others) who are just as personally responsible and culpable for their actions. But it’s very much a two way street with this sort if thing, and Lewinsky was/is in no way a victim.
I often giggle and smile, but it is a rare day I just
laugh out loud like I just did when I read your post.

Good for Lewinsky.
Clinton destroyed this woman’s life.
She was young, impressionable and thought she was in love.
Yes, she saved the blue dress so maybe she wasn’t so head-over-heels, but it’s a good thing she did.
She got the raw end of the deal and Mr. Bill got away with it as he still commands the center stage with the fawning public.
I hope she blows the head off this rapist-in-chief once and for all. If anything, the most we can hope for is that it will keep Hillary and her simpy daughter off the world’s stage....for the shame of it all. I would have had more respect for Hillary if she had divorced him back then.
You know what they say about a woman scorned.
A woman scorned who has not had a date since 1998
is gonna be five or six times as bad.
And Bill Clinton now has a 65% personal approval rating.
