Well said. We really should stop attacking Monica. She was a young girl seduced by the President of the U.S. People with power / money do this every day (sadly), but to make her the subject of crude jokes is really not decent here at Free Republic.
I’ve been following this site for years and do so because of the better level of discourse and because I think we are a lot more civilized than those at DU, Salon or that ilk.

She probably has to sell a tell all to make money. As you said, kind of hard for her to get normal employment the rest of her life. Carry that burden around for a while.
I’m going to take the opposing view here. Having lived in DC for 20+ years I’m familiar with there being numerous young, ambitious and predatory young women who seek out sexual encounters with powerful men as a way of climbing the career and social ladders. Monica Lewinsky certainly fell into this category, as did the late Chandra Levy and quite a few young women I knew over the years whos’ goals centered on bedding a Congressman/Senator regardless of whether that man was married.
This isn’t to excuse Bill Clinton (or Gary Condit or many others) who are just as personally responsible and culpable for their actions. But it’s very much a two way street with this sort if thing, and Lewinsky was/is in no way a victim.

I understand your sentiment but Lewinsky didn’t steal some office supplies or drive a little buzzed once. She was what? 23 or 24 years old when this was going on.. certainly not a school girl. There are times in one’s life that a decision one makes will follow you. Flipping up your dress to show the President of the United States your hiney, satisfying not only a married man but the President of the free world.. qualifies as “one of those decisions”. She was paid a million dollars as a spokesperson for a weight loss company based on her name. She created a line of purses based on her name. She continues to “sell” herself based on what she did and to whom. If she truly wanted to stay out of the public eye, she could have easily changed her name. Her appearance would have changed simply by age (or Miss Clairol). IMHO, she still is seeking out publicity based on what she did and to whom.
To put that into perspective for you, Clinton's daughter Chelsea was 6 years younger than Monica at the time.
Much as I detest SlickWillie for a whole host of reasons, I do wonder in this ONE case, Who seduced Who. The fact that she got nothing but notoriety out of the entire seedy affair implies a fairly low Intelligence/Ambition Quotient. Her subsequent drifting around and long term "student" status seems to support my opinion of her.
The stupid cow went to DC fully intending to do what she did. She told everyone before she left she was bringing her kneepads for that exact purpose. First chance she got she literally showed Clinton her ass. How's that for treating her fairly?
