Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee told CNN's Erin Burnett that the comments should not have been made without knowing the facts. "It was a pre-emptive strike on what somebody thought might be coming, but wasn't sure," Sen. Feinstein said. "It's exactly what shouldn't be done and that is make a comment before you even know what the situation is."

What amazes me is 1) that hubby came in from town earlier saying everyone said Zero didn’t apologize and 2) when I tried doing a search for it, I couldn’t find the early reports. Scrub a dub dub.
Regarding the lack of finger pointing, yes, they were caught flat footed and can’t find a way to blame Bush so they’re at a loss.

Dianne Fienstein is the Democrats go to point person and expert for National Security and Foreign relations matters ( a scary but true fact) and so she is poor schmuck that has to go out and defend the indefensible and try to cover for the Amateur in Chief sitting in the White House.
They know Obama’s recent string of incompetent screw ups and intentional irresponsible, reckless and feckless actions in the Middle East are pushing the region to the brink of disaster and the fallout will potentially be a world wide catastrophe.
They also know they will get the blame for this on the eve an election that is looking ominous for any Democrat up for re election.
Our lack of intel on this was probably related to Obama shutting down enhanced interrogation.
