General Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the U.S. military's Joint Chiefs of Staff, spoke with Pastor Terry Jones by phone on Wednesday and asked him to withdraw his support for a film whose portrayal of the Prophet Mohammad has sparked violent protests - including one that ended with the death of America's envoy to Libya

Red...yes, the military is on our side..
However, the question is, on which side are those who compose the leadership of the military?
Anyone who has served for any length of time and gone up through the ranks will tell you those who make it to the “top” these days do it because they are the most a** kissing, pc following, brown nosed, political hacks around.
So no surprise this guy did the bidding of this Obower’s admin.
The troopers know the difference, for sure.

Dipsh!t Dempsey, along with this administration and the MSM, have the blood of hundreds of American service personnel, including this ambassador and his team on their hands for failing to perform their responsibilities to the level expected.
Why are we now rushing Marines to Libya, when the horse has already left the barn? Why has Obama failed to attend his security briefings? Were where the support aircraft, drones, or extraction teams covering these hot spots? Why isn't the MSM asking these questions?

Cowardice is appeasing the animal who is trying to kill you in the hopes he will kill someone else first.
This is not the first time this administration and one of its generals has tried to shift the blame for muslim psychosis to an American citizens. In essence it is shifting the blame to the 1st Amendment and attempting to apologize for it.
So who stirred up the Afghani muzzies?
From the WSJ:
"Most Afghans learned about the Quran burning in Florida only when Mr. Karzai on March 24 (4 days after!) condemned the act as "a crime against the religion and the entire Muslim nation," called on the U.S. and the U.N. to bring the perpetrators to justice and demanded "a satisfactory response to the resentment and anger of over 1.5 billion Muslims around the world."
General Petraeus has certainly won Karzai's heart and mind. /s
You would think that having our female troops wear muslim hijabs instead of K-pots would have been enough to placate them.

AK, I urge you to rethink your position in this case.
General Dempsey has many offical duties, all centering around the military defense of the United States. He certainly has no role in advising private citizens as to the content of their political speech (if you regard Jones's speech as political) or their religious speech (if you regard it as religious) or the free expression of their idiocy (which is probably what it is.)
If Dempsey had made this call on his own time and his own dime, and without further publicity, it would possibly be justifiable; but to do it apparently in his official capacity (announced by his spokesman) is clearly an attempt to use the prestige and authority of his office to have a "chilling effect" on civilian speech.
We can incline towards Dempsey's point of view while still seeing that he is abusing his position.
The fact that it was publicized shows that he hopes that his efforts will extend beyong chilling Jones, to chilling everybody.
Jones's idiocy has nothing to do with it. Dempsey's efforts are incipient tyranny.

To the proper authority,
I’m calling to the Boss’s attention the recent changes noticed ... in the attitude towards fighting of pastor citizen named herein.
He has attempted on several occasions to escape his duties, voiced doubts on the chances of our victory ... and made defeatist comments in public.
The inexplicable effect of his movie ... on the muslim brotherhood can only be explained by ... his lack of belief in the Democratic socialist ideal.

Good, good, put the blame on a preacher that outs the muslims for what they are.
“These are isolated incidents. I see no reason for concern, and Americans should not generalize from the incidents in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Yemen, and Kuwait to the entire Arab world. We must continue to apologize for our inferiority, our weakness, and our actions in the past, present, and future that may have offended members of the religion of peace. So long as we remain meek on the world stage and reelect our Dear Leader, all will be well and other countries will love and respect us.”

Don't be ridiculous. Of course we have Freedom of Speech which is why General Dempsey had to ASK the idiot pastor to stop endangering American lives and did not ORDER him to do so. That's either sarcasm and you forgot the sarcasm tag, or you're a complete idiot. I hope you just forgot the "/s". A member of the government never "asks" a private citizen anything. It can't be done Behind every word they say lurks "the government". It's why freedom of speech had to be written into the Constitution instead of just being assumed.

President Romney will have a busy 1st day in office. Calling this kowtowing General to ask for his immediate resignation needs to be added to the long list.

Perhaps Terry Jones revoking his support WILL stop one or more of our soldiers from getting killed until we can get them OUT OF THERE for good. Perhaps we can ask our troops to convert to Islam. Maybe that WILL stop one or more of our troops from getting killed.
It's that damn film that is getting our people killed not to mention the Filipinos, Nigerian Christians, Coptic Christians, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, etc. If we get that film pulled, how many lives can be saved not only here but around the globe.!!!
