John Kerry: 'Exactly the wrong time to throw political punches'

By ALEXANDER BURNS | 9/12/12 11:15 AM EDT

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman, last seen tearing into Mitt Romney at the Democratic convention in Charlotte, issues a statement on the attacks on Libya and Egypt including a gentler rebuke of the GOP nominee:

The deaths of Ambassador Stevens and his team are heartbreaking. It's easy for a lot of people to forget that our diplomats are on the frontlines of the world's most dangerous places and they're there trying to make the world safer at great risk to themselves and their families. Chris Stevens was all that and more. He was a foreign service professional down to his toes, a guy who had served on the Foreign Relations Committee and embraced tough odds and tough assignments overseas. He had the guts and grit to serve as our envoy during the rebellion, and his presence there reminded Libyans that America stood with them for freedom in the face of violence. He was continuing that noble work as ambassador with enormous skill. He was an important part of the work we are doing in Libya, and we will not let this deplorable violence turn back the progress he helped make possible.

The violence in Cairo and Benghazi is unacceptable and unjustifiable. The stupidity of one filmmaker, no matter how offensive, is not now, and never, a rationale for violence. A despicable act like this hurts us all — Americans and peaceful people who aspire to build their own democracy.

I’m sadden about the loss of American lives but look how scared the dimocraps are. They realize how the hens are coming home to roost and they can’t do anything about it. They realize how all of the recent self-congratulations over the destruction of organized government in the region is taking a bad turn that they will have a difficult time countering.

Well, SOMEBODY has to be acting like a President, the Current Occupant sure didn’t seem to be stepping up to bat.

Some statement of foreign policy, in contrast to NO defined foreign policy, is not a wrong thing.

Meanwhile, Current Occupant was off putzing around at, well, anything but being President.

Right on the money. It is a diversion to try to make Romney look bad. Kerry probably got a phone call from O who said, “can you do me a quick favor and make a statement because Mitt is doing damage right now. He’s making me look bad. Just think of something that will make him look like he’s a bad guy and I’ll use my Satanic powers on the press to make sure it’s covered. Thanks John and yes I guarantee you get to sit at my right side in Hell once the One World Government is in place and I am fully seated in power”.

“John Kerry: ‘Exactly the wrong time to throw political punches”

If that is the case, then why is the communist Kerry opening his pie hole?

Could it be he is in line to be the next Secretary of State when old Hitlery is retired from the post?

I was in Iraq in 2005 and remember the Democrats never attacked President Bush during that time. //Sarcasm off//

Kerry and McCain promoted bypassing congress to join UN NATO in Libyan war. Claimed we need to fight for freedom. US Citizens that disagree are isolationists.

When the libs tell us it’s “exactly the wrong time”, then you know for certain it is exactly the right time.

Kerry is a fool and the Dems have been playing this stupid game of “I can criticize you but don’t criticize me on a foreign policy crisis” for years. I remember in 1983, during the Beruit bombing, Reagan made a flubbed comment in response to question about why all the security precautions weren’t in place. He said something like, “Well, its like fixing your kitchen—there’s always something more to do.”

The Dems IMMEDIATELY went ballistic. Tip O’Neill immediately called it one of the most disgusting comments he ever heard and showed how Reagan didn’t take it seriously.

Or is it that he is looking more and more like a PRESIDENT with each passing day rather than what passes for a President who is living in the White House, the PEOPLE’S HOUSE!

IMHO it would have been better if Romney had waited until all the facts were known and then attacked Obama including his Arab Spring BS

THis may backfire

Gee, we should have cancelled our convention out of respect for hurricane victims, now our candidates should keep their mouths shut on political issues out of respect for the Democrat pResident's image.

It's only a matter of time before they say our very existence is offensive to somebody and we should just die.

I guess a better time is when you come home after serving in Vietnam and start undermining your county’s war efforts and the men in action you left behind.

Somebody mash this zit, already . . . he nauseates me.
