Mitt Romneys campaign has suffered in the head-to-head polls against President Barack Obama following his partys national convention. Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham told Fox & Friends on Monday that the Romney campaign has no excuse for being behind in the polls in this economic environment. She went on to say that statements from some of Romneys staffers asking supporters to ignore the polls reminds her of 2006, when Republicans lost control of Congress.
After introducing Ingraham, Gretchen Carlson played a clip of White House Press Sec. Jay Carney making the case that the economy President Obama inherited from President George W. Bush could not be fixed in four years. Brian Kilmeade noted that the recession of 2008 officially ended in June of 2009, prior to the full implementation of the stimulus.
They are forever shifting the goalposts here and I think it is incumbent on the Romney campaign to make that very clear, Ingraham said.

She went on to say that the Romney/Ryan ticket should make a campaign issue of how the Bureau of Labor Statistics calculates the official adjusted unemployment rate.
Carlson accused two of the three major networks of failing to report accurately that the unemployment rate went down in the month of August because 365,000 people left the workforce. Fox then put up a graphic of ABC and NBC aligned with the official logo for the Democratic National Convention.
Ingraham said that the Romney camp needs to be three times as good at messaging and branding as Obama to overcome the inherent media bias in favor of the president. Obama can get out there and get a choreographed bear hug, and it trends on twitter for two days, said Ingraham.

In the eyes of his shriller, more spittle-fueled adherents and apologists hereabouts, Mittens is much like a cow wandering placidly through the streets of downtown Cairo: immune to any/all criticism and/or impediment by divine principle, if not an object of abject veneration outright.
The cow is holy. The cow is perfect. If the cow, for whatever reason(s) -- by whatever unguessable confluence of events, in the course of its dull, plodding amblings -- doesn't end up wherever the hell it was it wanted to go to in the first place: that's your fault, not the cow's.
Laura really needs to get out of the DC bubble, she was foaming at the mouth today.
No one would want to be a useful idiot for a propaganda machine. No way.
She does really go off the rails at times. Her best gig is cultural reporting and analysis, IMO. Raymond Arroyo seems to bring out the best in her.
Republicans have no backbone.
No thanks. Not going there again. ;^)
If I believed in conspiracies, I’d say that someone is picking the most inept candidates to run in order to keep the sitting President in office.
I mean John Kerry??? Why did they pick such an inept and unlikeable person? He had to be picked to run so he’d lose.
I mean Mitt Romney???
Compared to Howard Dean and John Edwards?
There aren't that many skilled, competent, likable politicians out there to choose from.
yes he does, it’s sad because I loved to listen to her, but when she get going,. i turn it off
Actually, Bush spent his entire second term letting the media define him because he didn't have to face another election. That was a colossal betrayal of his responsibilities. His lack of interest in challenging them is one of the key things that gave us Obama. And it is still letting them escape blame four years later. It cost republicans the congress, too.
Even if you are well ahead, doing nothing is a sure recipe for defeat. You can't assume people know anything, you have to keep communicating it.
