OBAMA ADMIN CUTS MILITARY PARTICIPATION WITH ISRAEL, INCREASES PARTICIPATION WITH MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD
Great! Good for them!
This could be a precautionary measure preparing for Iran being hit in October.
“Canada has also designated Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism.”
Yay
“Apparently, Canada has balls that Obamas America has shriveled with cowardly incompetence.”
We have had no embassy in Iran, since Jimmy Carter gave the Iranian Islamofacists permission to take over and trash our embassy and to imprison our staff until the night before Ronald Reagan was sworn in.
This move has nothing to do with balls.
It is a precautionary move to get their people out of Iran before Israel destroys Iran, the day after our election.
The timing makes me inclined to agree. Last time we broke ties with Iran was cover to smuggle out some trapped Americans. Our PM took some flak for it because the embassy closure was announced during an election campaign.
Could be, but it could also be due to the fact that the Iranian embassy has been sponsoring a lot of subversive activities here.
Yes, I remember that well. The whole affair gave me very positive feelings towards Canada.
Harper has intelligence, strength, fortitude and strong leadership skills. Obama has none of the above.
Obama has been weak and indecisive throughout the Iran controversy. He is also no friend of Israel and supports the PLO.
And unlike Obama's Amerika, Canada may directly and publically aid Israel in the conflict...
That’s gonna hurt The Nobel Peace Prize winner in the upcoming elections...
Exactly the first thought I had as I read the article.
The Canadian goats are safer now./s
I do wonder if something is up.
Back in Iran in as late as 1978/79 Alan and I were good friends with Canadian Ambassador Ken Taylor.
He was a tall, gangley man with athletic undertones, who in formal diplomatic circles was known for favoring sports clothes and an informal attitude with his friends. Really good man and a staunch friend. Respected by those who knew him - or he allowed to know him as he could be understandably reticent with what he knew and did.
Again, really great guy.
So, you must know that after the Iran caper, because of security reasons, his access to foreign postings was severely limited. He was posted to New York because the government was afraid the Iranians would try and kill him.
This is truly Great news, well done Canada & Harper govt.

The blogger is a Canadian Criminal Defence Lawyer & a Pro Democracy Activist of Iranian descent. She has been active for a number of years now, speaking publicly against the Iranian Islamic Regime, and very active defending dissidents, particularly those belonging to ethnic socalled minority grps in Iran, who have been subjected to Iranian Regime’s brutality.
Apart from her most recent entry about Canada’s suspension of diplomatic relations with Iran, other noteworthy entries are on July 15 2012 (CANADIAN BANKS Should Shut Down the Accounts of All Individuals Affiliated with the Islamic Regime in Iran) - and June 10 2012 (Reformist Event with Mojtaba Vahedi Turned Into an anti-Islamic Regime Protest).
However, personally, I do not agree with this specific statement in her last blog entry stating: while Iranians welcome any efforts to isolate the Iranian Regime politically they would strongly condemn any foreign military interference in Iran!
I believe those who have property & family in Iran fear for them in the case of military action, and the topic is up for debate & naturally is politically extremely sensitive. There is no clear consensus among exiled Iranians. Although most recognize that unless force is applied, the Mullahs’ regime is there to stay. If/when force is applied, it is also recognized that it will get extremely ugly, all around. But they need to just bite the bullet on this, imo.
