Read the entire 7,000 word ABC News story to get a grasp of Obama's incompetence in dealing with a major negotiation. Absolutely breathtaking:
An explosive mix of dysfunction, miscommunication, and misunderstandings inside and outside the White House led to the collapse of a historic spending and debt deal that President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner were on the verge of reaching last summer, according to revelations in author Bob Woodward's latest book.
The book, "The Price of Politics," on sale Sept. 11, 2012, shows how close the president and the House speaker were to defying Washington odds and establishing a spending framework that included both new revenues and major changes to long-sacred entitlement programs.
But at a critical juncture, with an agreement tantalizingly close, Obama pressed Boehner for additional taxes as part of a final deal -- a miscalculation, in retrospect, given how far the House speaker felt he'd already gone.
The president called three times to speak with Boehner about his latest offer, according to Woodward. But the speaker didn't return the president's phone call for most of an agonizing day, in what Woodward calls a "monumental communications lapse" between two of the most powerful men in the country.
When Boehner finally did call back, he jettisoned the entire deal. Obama lost his famous cool, according to Woodward, with a "flash of pure fury" coming from the president; one staffer in the room said Obama gripped the phone so tightly he thought he would break it.

LOL...where is that sputtering Hitler spoof? This one with Hitler being Obama on the phone is a natural.
but obama had a huge temper tantrum just like a little toddler when he didn’t get his own way
While this is slightly interesting, all of Woodward’s books are crap.
So in other words, he is an amateur?
In this case Obama pushed Boehner out the door when he asked for more tax increases beyond the ones that Boehner had already sold The republicans out for.....
So in short.... Boehner only found his spine after obama pushed for more...
From previous reporting on this, the “deal” included $800M in taxes and Obama wanted $400M more. This was no minor tweak to a deal that was close to being closed, it was a major overreach. And WTF was Boehner thinking? Dear Lord, I hope the first thing the new Congress does is replace the Speaker.
Another Clintonite Knife In Obama’s Back?
However, I was attempting to correct the statement that "Boehner has a spine, who knew?"
The real fact of the matter is that they both need to go....and I think that the timing of this book will help remove both of them.
Post # 10 makes my point nicely also......
Any book from a leftist icon like Woodward coming out with negative stories on Obama helps Romney. Obama couldn’t shift to the center like Clinton did and work with Republicans.
Boehner was willing to discuss $800 million in “new revenue” (taxes) if the spending cuts were kept. Obama changed the deal midstream to 1.2 billion and Boehner walked away. Never got back to Obama and Obama was pissed.
Most amusing story though was Pelosi and other Dems were getting down to dealing with the numbers and Obama called. She put him on speaker phone and he started giving a speech. She out him on Mute so he could babble in the background while they got down to real business.
Another”Random Act of Journalism”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A “flash of pure fury” coming from OUR MANCHILD president? Utterly hilarious! “...Obama gripped the phone so tightly he thought he would break it.” That string bean breaking a phone? This is so laughable.
Bambi couldn't punch through wet tissue paper.
"The One" has never believed he's been wrong yet so why would he concede it on election night?
Not sure why you consider this a bad thing since simplifying the tax codes was something conservatives have wanted for years.
When Obama at the last minute pushed tax hikes Boehner walked.
But lets all blame Boehner as usual...
