The amazing conclusion to yesterdays snafu involving the Democratic platforms language on Israel. After an evening of bad press they decided to reinsert the language about Jerusalem being the capital of Israel, along with some language about God after people noticed that the phrase God-given in the 2008 platform had been dropped in the new one. Simple process, in theory: Have someone from the floor propose adding the new language, then let the delegates approve it via a voice vote. The result? A trainwreck so awful that even Paul Begala didnt try to spin it.
As youll see, Villaraigosas astonishment that there are so many nays is palpable, and pure gold. Reporters were taken aback too:

They are OUT OF THE CLOSET now, What a Queer bunch of people.

How are the Dems ever going to recover the lost Islamic American vote now?
They'll have to come up with some "peace offering" to get them back in line.
I wonder what that will be.

How are the Dems ever going to recover the lost Islamic American vote now? This could flatten their convention bounce, for sure.

The noes were louder. Why was this railroaded through? Theres no way that it passed with two-thirds ayes.
My guess is that the party bigwigs knew that taking "God" and the Jerusalem thing out of the platform was political suicide, so the vote was fixed. I think Villaraigosa redid the vote 3 times because he was waiting for the dumbass delegates to get a clue and start vocally supporting the re-instatement, but I guess many of them didn't get the memo, heh.

I hope this bites them hard, but I remember the RATS booing a Marine Honor Guard carrying the American flag, and nobody got too upset about that.

“The first two votes appear almost equally yeas and nays. The final, IMO, is more nays. The amendments had to pass by a 2/3 majority. It appears it went down in defeat yet Villagrosa rammed it through by fiat. “
You are exactly correct!

I listened to this three times and assert there is no way the AYES were at 2/3. If anything, the NAYS were over 50%.

Just look at the faces in that Convention Hall...they are not “all there”, if you catch my drift.

I watched as it happened. The Nays were about 75%, raging, jumping up and down, and looking to punch God in the nose.
The mask fell off the Democratic Party today in Charlotte!
What is beneath is ugly and vile. Reminds me of the old movie about Jekyll and Hyde.

Wow. Just wow. There's
no doubt whatsoever the convention voted those changed down and Tony Villar ignored the vote.
That's the party of 'demmmmmocracy" (/whine) and "count every vote" "every vote should be counted."

Ha! Exposing people’s hypocrisy is always fun.
But I was wishing for the interviewer to ask any of those “pro-health” people whether the health of the baby was of any concern.
