CHARLOTTE, N.C. College students from across North Carolina will arrive in Charlotte by the busload. Same with members of predominantly black churches in neighboring South Carolina.
Their goal: help fill a 74,000-seat outdoor stadium to capacity when President Obama accepts the Democratic nomination Thursday night.
Anything short of a full house on the final night of the Democratic Party's national convention will be instant fodder for Republicans eager to use empty seats as symbols of waning voter enthusiasm for Obama.

No news there...
Surprised they didn’t go to Detroit and empty out all the mosques...
But we can’t have a lot of hadjibs in the crowd, heh.
“College students from across North Carolina will arrive in Charlotte by the busload. Same with members of predominantly black churches in neighboring South Carolina.”
So a bunch of stupid kids and blacks they have to import from another state?
“What are they bribing these people with?”
Salems and walk around money.
“Why not load up all the welfare recipients? That ought to fill the stadium to overflowing. It may not be a very diverse crowd, but at night, it may work.”
I hope you are one of the folks on this site who likes to crow about not being a Republican or a Tea Partier. That kind of comment has no place among decent human beings.
It’s interesting how for Democrats, filling a stadium or making a rally look impressive is strictly a matter of logistics. It’s just a given that the zombies will be available. They’re like inert matter, ready to be scooped up. The challenge is strictly in figuring out how to get them bused in. But for Republicans it’s much more a matter of persuasion. They have to inspire a bunch of small business owners and family people to put down what they’re doing and head out to the rally. They can’t just scoop up their constituency the way the Dems can just scoop up a bunch of college students or black church congregants or union guys.
If that stadium were infiltrated with Obama hecklers, a very inconvenient riot on national television would occur.”
When you are desperate and have to fill buses with whomever, the likelihood that there will be some of those will go up immensely.
Occupy kids, conservatives, anarchists, Howard Stern listeners? Chance of rain to boot??
Oh man, I almost want to watch!

............................................................I thought the black preachers were against Obama because of his love for homosexuals.
Black trumps everything.
Why not just offer free contraceptives and fill it with wombs?
Pray for America
Felons, muggers, dope smokers trucked in. Should be an interesting convention. “Acid here! Get your microdot!”....
The usual DemocRAT reward...

Given all the complex variables involved in the event, it would seem the AP is predicting failure and the ensuing bad press debacle. Why make such a statement if you are solidly behind the reelection effort? Why say anything alluding to failure?
The purposeful illumination of busing, crowd building if you will, indicates the false basis of the event. A synthetic crowd is not reality, but falsehood.
I see a problem. If we allow a natural crowd of 10,000 that leaves a 60,000 person deficit to be bused. Then doing a little arithmetic and allowing 65 passengers per bus 60,000/65 = 923 bus loads. The number 923 is quite large and exceeds even the total number of busses Mayor Nagin left stranded in New Orleans and forgot to use for evacuation.
If we attribute a nominal cost of $1,000 per bus load, that means the costs of the buses is nearly a $ Million. Since there are not 60,000 students in North Carolina willing to be duped, there must be some from say Maryland. That means the cost for the bus increases substantially.
The stadium filling exercise then becomes borderline fiasco.
Sign of desperation.
Good point. And what does it say about the attendees? What productive person has all day to get on a bus and sit and watch a blowhard politician?
Don't they have to work, or go to class?
Gosh, we never saw that comin’, eh? ;’)
thanks carriage_hill.

How many buses would that be?
Holy cow.
Lighten up, Francis. Into the second hour of his show, Rush would comment "We want to welcome to our show all the welfare recipients, just getting out of bed."
Strange..doesn't look like Black church members and somewhat dressed up for college students...Note: none of the supporters were available for comment.
