Forget the marble pillars, this time there will be a giant 16-foot sculpture of Obama made out of 15.5 tons of sand at the Democratic National Convention. Building a giant sand sculpture of a living leader might be considered a bit tacky with its worshipful implications, but building one during a hurricane in South Carolina is in particularly bad taste.
But if nothing else, at least Obama has found one Shovel Ready Project. And this isnt even the creepiest giant Obama sand sculpture ever made. The winner of that particular competition is still Sudarsan Pattnaik with this nightmare made out of sand.

Worshiping idols will get you a special place in hell. That is all I could think of since I first saw this despicable show of idolatry.

I noticed, that in all the images we see of the hideous sculpture being built...we really never see the faces of the *sand sculptors* ..only their backs...were they not proud of their work?

At what cost was the transfer of the sand from Myrtle Beach to Charlotte by the Army Corps...and then the removal? Yikes!

A simple rain storm did the trick. Racist rain clouds.

I'm just amazed that so few people connect the cause and effect dots here.
The columns, the countless portraits, the sculptures...they don't (I suspect) come from the DNC.
They (I suspect) are directed directly from Mister Obama.
I am not a psychiatrist, and I don't claim to know Mister Obama's psychological status; that said, please consider two words, and look up the descriptive info on the net ...
Malignant Narcissism.

Naw, it would be more realistic if it were made out of bullcrap and was set between two teleprompter panels. Even flies wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

A temporary sand sculpture was slated to be the ultimate welcome mat for visitors during the Democratic National Convention has been scrapped for security reasons. So much for the creation of Obama's first and only shovel ready job.

Come to think of it, we heard very little about protests at the Republican convention. Strange... It's not much fun throwing bricks and burning cars and so forth when the business owners and convention-goers have conceal-carry permits. (Thank you, Governor, for telling the Dems in Tampa where to go with their disarmament plan.)

I saw that portrait. It is disgusting what the painter did to this beautiful portrait.
Agreed.

"Come to think of it, we heard very little about protests at the Republican convention. Strange..."A lot of that has to do with how the po'testors are the Stupid of the Stupid. Like that great Watters World segment where he asked that Occupy street kid 'What do you want to replace (capitalism) with?', and the kid was just stuned.

"Wonder how much the Army Corps is going to spend trucking the *used/abused* sand back...maybe they'll take it NOL to build some more levies."Daffy thank for these deconstruction pics.
How incredibly apropos for the Bobo, a regime that was built on sand.

I actually saw a pallet of these things at my local K-Mart last Christmas.
