Forget the marble pillars, this time there will be a giant 16-foot sculpture of Obama made out of 15.5 tons of sand at the Democratic National Convention. Building a giant sand sculpture of a living leader might be considered a bit tacky with its worshipful implications, but building one during a hurricane in South Carolina is in particularly bad taste.
But if nothing else, at least Obama has found one Shovel Ready Project. And this isnt even the creepiest giant Obama sand sculpture ever made. The winner of that particular competition is still Sudarsan Pattnaik with this nightmare made out of sand.

If the metaphor of the empty chair was too cerebral for some voters...maybe this will will work.

Looks like Al Jolson doing his ‘black face’ and jazz hands.

When I see that sculpture, I can’t help but hear the voice of “Tickle Me Elmo” ... “Oooh, that tickles!”

Wouldn't statue be more lifelike if it were built outta charcoal rather than sand? :-)

Reminds one of the kind of worship Castro receives in Cuba...or how the North Koreans show love for their “Great Leader”.
Sick.

The media would have had a field day if Romney had something like this made for his convention.
If Zippy gets re-elected, we will see giant statues in honor of the Empty Suit everywhere.

Jesus told us to build our foundations on solid rock, not sand.

Oh, my, this campaign just lends itself to more "eastwooding," doesn't it?
From scriptural references to warnings about building on firm foundations instead of "sand," to images of "shifting sands," one can just see the possibilities from their "porches."
To: Daffynition
WOW. That kind of crap is right out of North Korea.

That was the first thing I thought of when I saw this, Obama is their messiah and they are paying homage to him, its truly sick.
To: JPG
It shows the Democrats mindset, if they could, they would establish a one-party dictatorship, and allow a President for Life.

The facial expression is really creepy, but it seems appropriate. Someone needs to sneak a sign in front of it, “DEAR LEADER”.
