As a performer, as a stand-up comedian for 30 years who knows how hard it is to get laughs, excuse me, he went up there
without a net, on a tightrope. There was no teleprompter. He did a bit with just an empty chair and killed, Maher said. He committed to it, it was consistent and it worked.

This may be the only time I agree with Maher.
Even if you didn’t like the speech/skit, it took a lot of guts to commit to it and get up there and actually do it.
Bingo... dead center of target.

>>I know this is a tier 1 veteran actor/director, and expected a smoother delivery.<<
He is not a stand up comedian. He is an actor. Given that he was supposed to have a teleprompter delivering his lines and said teleprompter fried out (conspiracy? /s/) or so the rumor goes, I think that 82 year old man did quite well. He went up cold. Imagine rehearsing your lines knowing that you had teleprompter back up and suddenly having to deliver without. Hellsbells, I’ve done the readings at church and messed up worse than Eastwood did.
I want to see BO do better.
AND as one bright FReeper said, it took Akin out of the headlines.
So does Maher think the timeline on Afghanistan withdrawal is a good idea? That Gitmo should remain open even though Obama promised to close it? What exactly does Maher disagree with?
Now that is awesome to hear!!!! They will continue to overreach bashing an elderly American icon, who served in the military in which he survived a plane crash, Korean war veteran, mayor, producer, director, spokesman, State park commissioner, Film commissioner, academy award winner, and lastly actor and now stand up comedian.
Keep at pilgrims. They are making my day by going overboard against an icon.
Looks like your post is “even more proof” that you are a troll and a plant. The first proof was the first post on Eastwood, the second proof was your second, etc.
Bingo! The genius of Eastwood's performance didn't fully hit me until the next morning, when I realized that all the feigned stammering and rambling forced viewers to listen carefully, and focused undivided attention to the softly, almost reluctantly stated words that followed. "We own this country... They are our employees... You got to let them go." By the time those words were delivered, everyone was paying rapt attention - and his words landed like sledge hammers. The Left is screaming because it hurts.
Maher is a comedian? I don’t think so. Marxists are never funny.

AHHHHHH, but there WAS a TELEPROMPTER. Not just ONE but two, and ALMOST EVERYONE MISSED IT. They, like the chair, were a prop and part of the skit.
“Even more proof to me Eastwood trolled all of us and was a plant.”
You’ve been here such a short time. I wonder what the rest of your posting record looks like.
I never thought I’d agree with Maher on anything. I don’t understand all the crap being put out there about Eastwood’s performance. It took me all of about 20 seconds to conclude he was playing it like a scene from “Harvey” (the one-man play with Jimmy Stewart and an imaginary rabbit) and using/imitating Jimmy Stewart’s speaking style.
Now why would this goofball say ANYthing remotely positive? He has an ulterior motive.

Well this is terrible but not surprising to me.
Ive taken a lot of heat here for this, but I am sticking to my opinion that I think Obama is going to win. There are many people who like sitting on their fat behinds all day collecting government checks.
I hate thinking it but I do. Obama is going to win.

Clint Eastwood masterfully unmasked Obama, but the left missed the subtleties
The nuance experts missed the subtleties? But how can that be?
So.... you missed the subtleties as well ?
I had the same problem. I thought it was Clint having problems staying on focus. It wasn't. He was imitating Obama's tendency to wander and blather. Try listening to it again, and maybe you'll see he knew exactly what he was saying and doing.
As I said on another thread, Eastwood was mimicking Obama's speech patterns, and the MEDIA proclaimed Eastwood was acting like he was demented (feeble minded). What does that tell ya ?
