The speech had you sucked into his act. The man you saw on stage was a carefully scripted character acting the part of a old 81 yr old senile man who was out of touch with reality. Zer0 in that chair was the work of a age-addled mind doing tricks on him. Here was a movie icon of years past who was showing us that he was long past his years of glory. He was just another movie tradesman. However, Eastwood's lines were a blowtorch that Eastwood masterfully crafted "to make my day!"
social justice = High Plains Drifter

Actually, the act was a brilliant parody of a classic Jimmy Stewart character, Elwood P. Dowd, from the movie “Harvey.” See if this doesn’t look familiar.

You thought it was poor because you didn't recognize it was a parody of a Jimmy Stewart character from the 1950 movie "Harvey." Check the link I just posted to a YouTube video from that movie....
92.6% of the people got it.
The You Tube video of Jimmy Stewart was a terrific find. It was just the thing that Clint Eastwood did.
See, I figure that they missed a bet with the empty chair. It should have been an empty suit!

I see the media is reporting that Clint took twice as long as he was given and ignored the red light and that the Romney campaign was not happy with it (off record of course).
I did see Morning Joe interview a few Republicans Friday Morning and none of them were enthused about it. Thursday night the last night was supposed to be a bunch of drama pieces to make you cry and then here comes Clint and makes us laugh,
Al Sharpton was outraged at Clint's disrespect of Obama. And upset Romney sent out a message that he was laughing watching it (smart move.) I call that the seal of approval.
Anyone who thinks Clint is senile is an idiot. We should all be so sharp at 82. I know him, and he is on his game. He crushed Obama with this bit.
He is probably the only one those under 30 watched(and enjoyed). His joke about Afghanistan probably didn't go over well with Romney but I loved it, Obama hated it too.
A cable station is replaying Rambo 3 where Rambo helps the Afgans against USSR. That shows how far we have strayed FROM THE 1980S.
Clint Eastwood is legendary as a man of few words in his Spaghetti westerns as well as in real life. For him to get his frustration as a patriotic American across in the form of a schtick speaks volumes.
Made My Day!
The question BO has to be thinking about is - “do I feel lucky?”
Well do you? Punk!
Liberal postion = drop drawers, bend over, grab ankles
U.N. = Un-indicted co-conspirators
Tis still there - just scroll down a good ways, and it is on the right hand side.
And both DH and I loved the speech. It was surprising, and a little hard to see how old Clint had become,(best proof that what you see on any screen has nothing to do with reality!), but he was sharp as a tack, (LOVED the part about crying, LOL!), and the delivery was pure Clint.
We will echo what many others here have said - Mr. Eastwood is truly an iconic AMERICAN figure - a man of principle, of few words on screen AND in life, and for him to come forward to share his views on national television should scare the he!! out of all of us.
May God bless you Clint, and may He guide us all out of this mess.

First, thanks for posting.
Clint did not deliver a speech, he spoke to US with no teleprompter, like 99% of the other people that marched across the RNC stage. That was the part that most appealed to me, he did not have to READ every line, he SPOKE to US. For sure was not a speech.
The only improvement that I could offer to Rowdy would have been to have an empty golfer attire laying across the chair with a bag of golf clubs next to the chair and possibly some freshly printed Bens and EBIT cards scattered about on the floor. That would have finished the prop off.
The empty lies from an empty suit from an empty headed usurper have been exposed. It is just a matter of time before the empty headed _Resident goes over the cliff (like our economy) and pulls the lever on martial law. Hang on Citizens, it is going to be a bumpy ride.....keep your powder dry.
Great Idea....pass it on...
Deserves a thread of it's own..
Thanks for the suggestion.
Send it to Rush / Lavin / Hannity / and all others on the talk show circuit...
