Me too, AZ .44. He said more--effectively and cleverly--in his cool, offbeat sort-of parody of his suffers-no-fools old-man character/persona self, than any other (true) artist of any age could. You go, Clint. You got it *all* goin' on. And you BURNED Obama. BIGTIME.

I didn't like it.... I loved it!
I wish he was in his 30s, so we would have 60 more years with him.

Whooped 'em again, Josey!
“Just watch: The smear will begin on Clint.”

Already has. The official Dem/Communist talking point is that Eastwood has dementia.
“Where Eagles Dare” and the first “Dirty Harry”.
An empty chair is the perfect place for an empty suit.
The Emperor has no clothes!
I agree with your comment. He is an actor, and a great one. All of the presentation (not a speech) was fully scripted, including the uncombed hair style sported by the actor.
As I watched it the first time, I was a little worried. Then, after a few other viewings, I realized it was sheer genius.
Using an empty chair to make fun of zer0, and the fact that the video is now viral, is testament to its success. Rats don’t like dealing with equations very much. They often require thinking. But, even they understand, and are furious about someone stating, via ridicule, the obvious: Empty chair = empty suit = zer0.
LOVED it! And would like to see people all across the country stick an empty chair in their front yard - a la Wag the Dog and the shoes bit. That would really get under Obama’s skin!
I loved the speech. Hubby and I were on the floor laughing. My only disappointment was I wanted him to say, “Get off my lawn!”
Yes, they're photoshopping that still frame from The Simpsons ("Old Man Yells at Cloud") as part of the smear.
The libs better be careful with this stuff. Clint was deliberately toned-down and oblique in his remarks while at the convention. If they pile on him out of pure spite, Eastwood might just spell things out more bluntly (and in an equally public setting).
The speech was excellent, perhaps the delivery could have been better.
Everything considered, it was far superior to the usual teleprompter read scripts from the rehearsed politicians
When I watched it, I thought it was poor. My wife, who’s very liberal, also thought it was poor.
Could of been smoother, but what I liked was the tone. Man to man, none of the deference to Obama. To witman, you have really f.....d up, time to pack your bags and go. The kind of speech that Palin might have delivered and Christie was kept from giving.
I liked it It made me want to watch Grand Torino, which I’m doing right now.
can we please admit the speech sucked?

Sorry Doc; I found it somewhat entertaining.
In my opinion, Eastwood’s speech was more scripted than we were led to believe. The purpose was to give the impression that Eastwood was a senile, crusty old man who had no ability to make a coherent thought. The idea of him talking to an empty chair was to give the impression that Eastwood was even schizophrenic and hallucinating Obama sitting there. It was all apart of the effect.
Eastwood delivered his lines masterfully. Each sentence was a blowtorch cremating Obama. When the protester started making noise, Eastwood did not hesitate, “Go ahead and make my day!” He got the crowd to give the last words of the line. Acting like an age-addled “movie tradesman,” he was on top of his game. When the crowd brought down the house in adulation, he said “Save a little for Mitt.” His mind was spontaneous and quick. However, the effect he wanted to make was even a 81 yr old man can figure out that “when someone cannot do the job, we got to let them go.”
Eastwood gave the good, the bad and the ugly. The good thing is we are the owners of this country. The bad thing (for Obama) is that Obama is our employee. And the ugly thing is we got to let Obama go.
In the end, Eastwood’s searing lines made one thing perfectly clear, in November, Obama is toast.

How so? Granted, the delivery was not real smooth, but the guy is 82 y.o. for goodness sake. Your wife, being a liberal, has an excuse; liberals don’t know how to laugh. They are miserably unhappy people. But you, my friend, might need to learn how to laugh again. “A merry heart does good; like a medicine.”
