Democrats plan to emphasize President Barack Obama's record on national security and veterans on the night he delivers his address at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

If that's his plan, then the Republicans need to fill TV screens with a strong, positive message that a healthy, strong, and debt-free economy is absolutely essential to national security!

Link those two in the minds of citizens. Our manufacturing base is gone. Military budgets are due for slashing. Taxes are about to become more burdensome to the few lucky enough to be working. Economic woes and Administration policy have demoralized the citizenry and destroyed the "seed corn" or "engine" of a recovery.

"Peace through strength," and "America, the exceptional bastion of liberty" have been replaced by "We're all in this together, so let's enjoy equality in misery," and "We've been arrogant as a nation."

Mr. President, "national security" is not your strong "suit" either. As a matter of fact, do you remember the old story about the "emperor" who had not "clothes"?
