RUSH: There's an AP story here today. This rules change what everybody thinks got solved yesterday. Let me briefly, as I understand this, tell you what's going on. There was an attempt, by the rules committee yesterday, to change the rules of the convention in determining who the delegates to the convention are from the various states and to strip away all of the BS. The purpose of the rules change, which was orchestrated by Ben Ginsberg -- he's working for Romney, but it's the establishment GOP. The express purpose is to eliminate any influence of Tea Party activists or grassroots people or conservatives, essentially, from having any power at future conventions.
It would allow the presidential nominee to determine who the delegates to the convention are in future conventions.

The party platform is agsinst those which he has agreed to advance.
I will not vote for him (and I was going to).
yes...I’m quite pissed. If RP appears on the ballot I will vote for him now.Otherwise I will skip this portion.
Nice of the GOP to have one of their operatives sign up a month ago to infiltrate anti-establishment threads.
If Romney wins, I wonder how many of us will be audited or worse.
I wouldn’t vote for Ron Paul either, this has nothing to do with RP in my opinion- but the entire grassroots conservative movement
Put a stop to it?
Romney’s RINO’s are running the convention
Drag his phoney @ss across the finish line, then chew him up and spit him out in 2016. That’s where I’m at right now.

I just got a call from the Maine ousted delegates. Ron Paul said the mothership is here. We need to put on our Nikes, capes and foil hats and go outside at Midnight EST to be picked up.

Who said anything about primarying him?
He doesn’t want my vote and there is no way in hell the GOP will allow the nomination of another candidate in 2016.
He’s not going to be pushed to the right if conservatives don’t have the courage to do it now.
Oh horsesnot. You're so full of BS. You weren't going to vote for Romney and were are always predicting he'd lose anyway. You just look for any thread to post your debbie downer drivel.
Romney's odds of winning have actually been increasing in both polling, on intrade, etc. Willard has nearly drawn even with Hussein and it is increasingly possible that he will be elected president. Nothing that happened at the convention today changes this dynamic. And FYI, these rule changes were primarily designed at chasing the paulbots away. Perhaps they were overkill, but that was generally the intent. And I say good riddance. Paultards hate social conservatives and detest the traditional, family oriented wing of the Republican party. They weren't going to vote for our nominee no matter who it was (and there is no chance it was going to be Paul).
Calm Down
Good point, Longbow. I think you're right.
” Why would he stop it? He knows most conservatives, even JimRob, are going to vote for him know matter what he and the establishment do. That gives him free reign to do almost anything.”
Conservatives are as much on the RINO Plantation as blacks are on the Demonrat Plantation. They see the second. They are RINO blind to the first.
The door was closed to conservative grassroots activists today, and I’m under no illusions as to the future import of that. I was not talking about a primary challenge. A lot can happen in four years, look what’s happened since 2008. It’s time. There is no time, however, to mount a challenge for this 2012 race. None of the third party options hold promise of unseating Obama, and no one appears poised to step up to the plate who could change that circumstance. Obama has got to go. Pity this sordid bunch would benefit short term, but there isn’t another course of action that doesn’t leave EO power in the hands of someone who seriously should never have had it at all.
ROFLOL! Good point well said.
I tell you now WITHOUT reservation. Call me what you will. If Romney is elected, conservatism ends that day.
