RUSH: There's an AP story here today. This rules change what everybody thinks got solved yesterday. Let me briefly, as I understand this, tell you what's going on. There was an attempt, by the rules committee yesterday, to change the rules of the convention in determining who the delegates to the convention are from the various states and to strip away all of the BS. The purpose of the rules change, which was orchestrated by Ben Ginsberg -- he's working for Romney, but it's the establishment GOP. The express purpose is to eliminate any influence of Tea Party activists or grassroots people or conservatives, essentially, from having any power at future conventions.
It would allow the presidential nominee to determine who the delegates to the convention are in future conventions.

We will see.
Romney came out in favor of abortion for rape, incest, HEALTH, and life of the mother. He is pro gay marriage. His Romney care is a kissing cousin to Obama care. Why would he do anything about it?
If anyone missed his speech tonight, it is a MUST SEE!
Was not going to watch as I have/had little interest other than listening to Madam Romney but as O'Reilly was not on, started watching.
Much to my surprise (and joy) they (ALL) the speakers have been "HAMMERING" Dear Leader.
Not as hard as I wish, but much more than I had expected and I am heartened by the fact that Mittens, the RNC, the Establishment RINO's were not successful in trying to tone things down; especially, Rick Santorum.
He was great. He even came right out and accused O'Bummer of ignoring the Constitution, hit on "Right to Life," etc.
Right now Cruz is speaking and he is doing a great job also.
AMEN, bro, AMEN.
Why would Romney want to put a stop to it? Bishop Romney is yet another total control freak, whose first concern is to push out of his way anyone who might question him or cause him future inconvenience.
Boehner and the others who are forcing this through are simply following Romney’s instructions, in hopes of getting the usual rewards in return.
GOP-e to conservative Americans: “Obey your betters. Vote for whatever overlord we nominate, and then shut the #&@* up and drink your beer from a can like the good little toothless hicks you are.”
You are kidding, right?
Romney is the general, he is the one leading the coup against conservatives.
Good lord how do you not know that.
Perhaps its time to not only not vote for Romney, but to consider working for the opposition! I have voted in every election (Primary and General) since 1956. I changed my party affiliation to Independent today!
John Boehner was the face of this farce, with his “voice vote unanimous” approval of the rules, while a large number of the delegates jeered at him.
It reminded of years ago, when Tip O’Neil pulled the same stunt at the Democrat convention, of ignoring the delegates and pronouncing what the leadership had decided.
But I think this time there should be a different outcome.
Boehner thinks that the House will make him Speaker, after all the stunts he has pulled. They *have* to, because that is what the *leadership* wants.
But there is now a big bloc of Tea Party congressmen, and many of them are fed up with Boehner and his antics.
So we need to send these congressmen a message, that they should not just roll over and do what the leadership wants.
Find someone who will be a conservative Speaker of the House, and tell Boehner that he is just a congressman again. Not a committee chairman. Not a powerhouse. Just a congressman.
It is called payback. And Boehner deserves a heaping helping of it.
Your point is taken. Feeling as if we have TWO major party candidates who despise Conservatism.
FWIW, after hearing of the rule change, I have no interest in watching any of the convention.

Watch at about the 2:37 mark, when Sunnunu comes on. Watch and listen to the yeas and nays. They sound even to me, yet Boehner smashes down the gavel and says the yeas “have it”.
the delegates who agreed to vote for the rules changes were told to shout USA to drown out the dissents.
“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which” Animal Farm
If we get the house and senate, America stands a better chance of thwarting Bambi then Myth.
we now have a top down party
grassroots is out
the PARTY bigwigs will be able to remove delegates that do not vote for their nominee
insanity
Why would he stop it? He knows most conservatives, even JimRob, are going to vote for him know matter what he and the establishment do. That gives him free reign to do almost anything.
As long as conservatives keep eating the excrement sandwich, the Gop-e will keep serving it.
We'll end up with both major parties that despise conservatism if Romney is elected. And, yes, that is worse than four more years of an ineffective, lame duck whose policies will continue to bleed the Democratic party dry.
>>Good lord how do you not know that.<<
You ASSume I don’t?
Never ASSume. Because when you do, you make an ASS of U...not ME.
;-)
Mitt Romney is the establishment. The ones changing the rules were the Paul-bots.
