Take a look around key committees of the House and you'll find a governing body stocked with crackpots whose views on major issues are as removed from reality as Missour's Representative Todd Akin's take on the sperm-killing powers of a woman who's been raped.
On matters of basic science and peer-reviewed knowledge, from evolution to climate change to elementary fiscal math, many Republicans in power cling to a level of ignorance that would get their ears boxed even in a medieval classroom. Congress incubates and insulates these knuckle-draggers.
Let's take a quick tour of the crazies in the House. Their war on critical thinking explains a lot about why the United States is laughed at on the global stage, and why no real solutions to our problems emerge from that broken legislative body.
We're currently experiencing the worst drought in 60 years, a siege of wildfires, and the hottest temperatures since records were kept. But to Republicans in Congress, it's all a big hoax....
Jack Kingston of Georgia, a 20-year veteran of the House, is an evolution denier, apparently because he can't see the indent where his ancestors' monkey tail used to be....
A handful of Republicans have tried to fight the know-nothings. "I believe in evolution and trust scientists on global warming," said Jon Huntsman, the former Utah governor, during his ill-fated run for his party's presidential nomination. "Call me crazy."
And in an on-air plea for sanity, Joe Scarborough, the former G.O.P. congressman and MSNBC host, said, "I'm just tired of the Republican Party being the stupid party." I feel for him. But don't expect the reality chorus to grow. For if intelligence were contagious, his party would be giving out vaccines for it.

Guam tipping over, Flag planted on Mars by our Astronauts!! Sound familiar?
Man, that isn’t all. We still have people in Congress stupid enough to believe in the redistribution of wealth, in the efficacy of welfare, in the privileged status of sundry Oppressed Peoples, in class warfare, in internationalism, in following every European social and economic failure, in unrestricted immigration, in placing medical care in the same hands that have wrecked student loans - it goes on and on and on...
I shall find out.
Yeah, but I’d bet that Romney knows how many states are in the country, what language they speak in Austria, and how to spell “Ohio”.
But should you show your trollish face here again, we'll remove his restraing bolt and then .....
.....well ... at least we won't have to feed him ourselves for a few days.
Hungry today, are we?
I started reading the comments.
It’s amazing how ignorant the Left is about conservatives and Republicans.
But what really jumps out at me is their fear of people in power believing differently than they do. Ironic, really.
If the Left hadn’t built this monster that is the Federal government - an entity that now is approaching total control of our lives thanks to them - then none of us would care about the personal beliefs and conviction of those in power. Washington said it best two centuries ago: “Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”
The Left has spent the better part of the last century forging the government of this country into a power unlike any the world has ever seen before, with little thought as to what might happen if “the right people” weren’t in charge. It’s somewhat encouraging to see them finally realize what a danger that power could be, even if there fear is based on delusion and ignorance.
Of course, even with their fear, they still can’t let go of their god that is the state. Everything will be skittles and unicorns as long as their boys and girls are in charge, despite the constant examples in history to the contrary.
Only for "Inconvenient Truth's" children, and only for their hearts.
I like to crack through the rib cage and feast, as their diminutive hearts take their last final beats.
REMOVE THE BOLT!!!! PLEASE!!! REMOVE THE BOLT!!!!!!!!
