Missourians recanting; Todd Akin just might win. (Vanity)
August 25, 2012 | pistolpackinpapa

One of my Missouri friends called me back last evening and he has recanted. He is still pissed at Akin but, he's going to vote for him because he can't stand McCaskill. The surprising part was this: He said that everybody he has talked to, about this, within the past couple of days, feels just like he does. Akin may be semi-brain dead, but they cannot and will NOT vote for McCaskill. There are 73 days before Election Day (counting today). I have a feeling than when a lot of people, who are angry at Akin now, walk into that voting booth, they just will NOT be able to vote for McCaskill and will pull the lever for Akin. If I lived in Missouri, that would be me.

I've got a feeling cooler heads will prevail over the next 73 Days and a lot of people will swing back to Akin, simply out of hatred for her thighness. The first poll that shows the race tied or Akin one point ahead; it's gonna be on. Man, if Akin dude does pull out a win that would be the shock heard 'round the world and Claire McCaskill would have to be put on suicide watch.

Claire McCaskill’s loss on Nov 6, will be one of the many bitter pills the left will have to swallow.

But a senator is MORE than a vote, he’s a personality, he’s a voice, he represents a cause greater than himself.

You mean like Mitch McConnell, Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, Scott Brown, Richard Lugar, John McCain, Lindsey Graham and and other squishy Reps. First and foremost, I want someone who will VOTE LIKE A CONSERVATIVE in the Senate in the mold of a Jim Demint, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Jeff Sessions, David Vitter, and some others. They need reinforcements like Richard Mourdock, Ted Cruz, and Todd Akin. The conservatives have been frozen out of leadership positions in the Senate and in the House. It is time to take this country back.

Also, don’t forget that a portion of McCaskill’s 48K vote margin came from ACORN’s voter fraud!

Cheers

What it showed was an incredible lack of judgement.

Stupid to try to make a secular argument for a article of faith.

And just imagine how much pressure the MSM is going to put on Romney to reveal his tax returns. And folks like Bill Kristol and George Will will add to the pressure. When the MSM can force the Reps to dance to their tune by making a mountain out of molehill in the case of Akin, do you think that motivates them to do even more? When you give a bully your lunch money on Monday, do you believe that he will not come back each day thereafter to get more?

The GOP caved and the pressure will only become greater on other Rep candidates who might commit a verbal gaffe. They will be walking on eggshells from now to November. Self-censorship is the worst censorship of all.

The MSM is deep in the tank for Obama. If they are as powerful as you say they are, Obama will be reelected. Why bother going to the polls?

Missouri conservatives rally to Akin, blast Republican “establishment”

(Reuters) – Missouri conservatives say they are rallying around U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin despite his controversial comments about rape because they are outraged that “establishment” Republican Party leaders tried to railroad him out of the race.

A backlash has set in here in Akin’s suburban St. Louis congressional district, where supporters said the national party had no right to attempt to force out a duly-elected candidate.

Like Ken Buck in Colorado, Akin is staying in and will lose.

He has done great damage to the pro-life movement.

This is all very unfortunate.

Why would the people of Missouri trust Todd Akin??? The man will change to an Insependent. The man obviously is as much as a narcissist as Obama with an Ego to match!

I am from Missouri and many of us think Akin is a Huckabee puppet. Send Akin down to Arkansas and let him serve their State. We don’t want him.

Even better, he has an A rating from Gun Owners of America. That’s more difficult to do.

You have to remember who he is running against.

Claire McCaskill got caught red-handed not paying property taxes on her LearJet.

She's made millions collecting government checks for the old folks' homes she runs. IOT, she has made millions on the backs of the elderly.

She's a sleazy crook, and she's joined at the hip to Ubama, who is going down to defeat in a landslide of historic proportions.

Ubama has coattails. Believe it.

Wow! One voter.Well, that's it then,we can stock up on champagne in Missouri..

No one I know cares about this AT ALL. Whether on Facebook, conversations, etc. Not a single person I know has changed their mind about Akin.

To my knowledge, none of us voted for Akin; everyone I know voted Steelman or Bruner, but we support him now as the candidate.

So just yesterday you posted a vanity that asked ‘aren’t we lucky we didn’t get a socon like Rick Santorum for President because he might have said something stupid like Akin did’.

Today you post a vanity that says “gee, maybe Akin will pull out this election after all.”

Twist in the wind much?

Todd Akin has always been a strong supporter of RKBA. Ma McCaskill has not been. Any gun owner, pro-2nd Amendment folks in Missouri vote for her? You deserve the gun bans that she will sign off on along with the Imposter from Mombasa.

This trend is inevitable. Genuine conservatives just need the time to see that there is not any reasonable alternative to supporting Akin.

It is time to look for the silver lining.

It is time to make a virtue of necessity.

It is, in short, time to begin recognizing some of Akin's strengths and assets.

He genuinely believes in the right to life and makes no exceptions for lives created by unusual or tragic circumstances.

He can be counted on to actively support the right to life because he sincerely believes in the universal right to life.

He has admitted that he was clumsy in describing his support for life.

He is a fighter. He did not succumb to the hysteria and an unprecedented level of national pressure for him to quit.

Finally, he can and he will win this race. Nonleftists will support him, initially, because they know they must and eventually, because they will as time goes by develop a greater appreciation of his character and his personal strengths.

By election day, most conservatives will admire Todd Akin.

Religious faith had nothing to do with the stupid comment about women being able to turn on and off their reproductive system. If I am missing something, please enlighten me. Otherwise, Forrest Gump’s mama had you in mind.

Saw a Fox poll yesterday. Bill Clinton has a 65% favorability rating. No wonder he is going to be one of the main speakers at the Dem Convention. I guess you can commit rape, drop your pants and expose yourself to a state employee in a hotel room, engage in sodomy with an intern in the WH, sexually molest others, commit adultry, lie under oath, have your law license suspended, and pay a major fine for contempt of court and really suffer no consequences when it comes to the court of public opinion.

Yet Todd Akin has been made into something north of Jack the Ripper for a verbal gaffe, including using the word "legitimate," instead of what he meant, i.e., "forcible." His apology is unacceptable even to the GOP. The hammers of Hell are upon him despite living an exemplary life, public and private, including being a devout family man with six children and three sons who served in the USMC. So this former Army officer and divinity student must be banished from the public square to suffer eternal damnation and humiliation. Something wrong with this picture?

RE: “Legitimate Rape”

A rape that actually happened, as opposed to a fabricated rape used to justify to others one’s own decision to abort a child.

Cheers
