National Security Agency whistleblower William Binney explains how the secretive agency run its pervasive domestic spying apparatus...
Binneyone of the best mathematicians and code breakers in NSA historyworked for the Defense Department's foreign signals intelligence agency for 32 years before resigning in late 2001 because he "could not stay after the NSA began purposefully violating the Constitution."
In a short video called "The Program," Binney explains how the agency took part of one of the programs he built and started using it to spy on virtually every U.S. citizen without warrants under the code-name Stellar Wind.

I spent my whole 37 year career (four years military and 33 years) as an officer of “Never Say Anything” including a five year tour at Menwith Hill Station (69-74). Most of my time I was overseas on the tip of Our Spear (not to be confused wit REAL Special Ops operators). In all my time I never heard of any of our operations directed against U S persons. We field types were and I’m sure still are overwhelmed just trying to keep with our real enemies. Many’s the time that we were informed officially that any attempt to intercept, record and/or report on comms between US Persons would result in dismissal, prosecution or both.
Just for fun during the Clinton Administration I used to say "Clinton" and "bombing" in the same sentence while I was on the phone with a friend.
I liked the thought of a computer getting it's panty in a wad.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Nice job stopping those idiots. I would have used Metallica’s cover of “So What?” myself.
Clinton was probably more like, this genii cannot be stuffed back into the bottle so why try.
Just today, I was at home getting an address up on yahoo search and the map I decided to use had me enter the start location to get driving directions. Since my printer no longer works (continuously spits out paper), I went to the library to get a printout. Put in the address same way as before and the starting location was already filled in. Just a coincidence, I believe!
Maybe Yahoo being too clever by half? Figuring that since you’re the only one who ever asked how to go to that place, they’d help out by supplying your remembered start address? I’d be both weirded out and annoyed.
No, different date on the tour.
He saw them down here in ATL.
I’m spoiled on seating too. We’ve held season tix at the small amphitheater for years, and the big one Maiden and Alice played is A) a long way (relatively), B) in a bad neighborhood and C) crappy seats compared to my close in season tix.
I see Derek Trucks and BB King tomorrow night from 60’ or so from stage center. Derek may be the best guitarist playing today. He’s just awesome. I saw him playing with Gregg and Warren two weeks ago, and can’t wait to see him playing with his own band and his wife. Susan is like Bonnie Raitt minus 30 years. I expect he’ll spend a fair amount of time on stage with BB, too.
That would have been a good choice too.
And most of that would, of course, be talk like “Clinton’s campaign/popularity/polling is bombing.” Like 99.99% of the time. That had to get old to the folks who had to screen these recordings in person.
Good suggestions all but none of them are intentionally insulting to the intelligence of the listener.
[I didn’t want to aim too high and have the sentiment soar right over their heads]
“Have you heard TAAB2?”
Nope.
Not gonna, either.
I wait all this time for a real, *new* album that isn’t about some freaking dead cat or birds singing and I get a rehash of TAAB?
“Divinities” was good but it was no Catfish Rising or Roots to Branches.
Haven’t seen them in concert since the RTB tour.
[B&TB was the best show I ever saw them do]
Hubby got into it so much I painted the album art on three different Harleys.
[well, with my own demented spin on it, anyway]
Thanks for your service.
Most of us if not all of us with MI Intel service would agree with you re not listening in on Americans.
The warnings were very severe and strick re don’t!

Back at ya, Dave. Looks as if we were on active duty at the same time. I was stationed at a small NATO base in southern Italy during the Cuban Crisis. As out-of-the way as that station was, we were on full alert
Isn’t there an official day when the ‘geeks’ flood the whole internet with the ‘bazillion trigger words list’ that makes the alphabet agencies freak out?
I could’ve just blasted them with nearly anything by Type O Negative...:)
I bet top of the trigger list will be "Obama Antichrist"
fast forward to 21st century tech and armies of puter geeks...
ps, the fed trolls can bite me...
Why would they cut into my call ? Might have been because I actually worked with Michael Rivero (What Really Happened) in the past on a few occasions (normal tech work). Or could have been due to my activity here during the Clinton Impeachment. Bush left a lot of Clinton's security mess in place.
When they cut in, it sounded like police or military. Heard a voice or two and some radio noise. Lasted for a few seconds then stopped. Doubt they were keeping an eye on my parents, whom I called. Woke up late that day and learned about 911 an hour or two after the fact.
you can bet this thread is waving all manner of digitized 'red flags' in la-la land...
