There was a time, this year, when I was rooting for Rick Santorum during the GOP Primary season. Then, he began to make statements that made me nervous. (Most of them, I worked hard at forgetting.) Since this "Todd Aikin thing", I've begun to wonder if we didn't doge a bullet by not nominating Santorum, who for all practical purposes, came in Second Place. I feared that if he got the nomination he would have a "Macaca/Legitimate rape" moment. To me, he and Aikin seem to be of the same ilk. Dunno.....just thinking out loud. Wonder if we didn't dodge a bullet?
Yes, Rick is a great speaker when speaking to a group of his supporters. He’s absolutely one of the best at firing up a group of his supporters. But I think Romney is the best candidate to run against Obama this year. Please see post 37.
Since Santorum wasn’t really a conservative (other than the fact he wanted to ban all methods of birth control), I’d say we dodged a lot of bullets when he lost.
SHARIA-ISTS UNLOAD.. 3 ... 2... 1
Romney wasn’t my first choice, either.
Dittos.
What a schmuck.
See my tag line.
What bothers me about the abortion threads are many are totally accepting, and even demanding, that federal government has a role in this issue. If abortion is considered to be murder, then it is a state issue. If abortion is a state issue, states can more freely control and limit abortion thereby saving some lives.
Good point.
are you my long lost twin???
I have gotten into many drag down arguments over the exact same thing...
I was even called a baby killer for saying abortion, if you follow the constitution, IS a tenth amendment issue..
every state that has tried to ban or outlaw it has been overturned by the fed....
I firmly believe a good deal of the people on this forum do not accept the saving of one life as a victory...
or the saving of an entire state’s lives as a victory either..
all or nothing..
with that kind of thinking, it will always be nothing..
divide and conquer...
one state at a time
I just didn’t see that. Seemed like a wet noodle to me. Not as bad as Pawlenty, but not really commanding any enthusiasm except from people who were enamored of him solely for his policy stances.
“If abortion is considered to be murder, then it is a state issue.”
If abortion is murder, it’s not solely a state issue. There would also be a 14th amendment civil rights issue, which would be a Federal issue.

Not as bad as Pawlenty, but not really commanding any enthusiasm except from people who were enamored of him solely for his policy stances. That's interesting, and Pawlenty was really boring I'll agree. We went to Rick's Rally in Arlington Heights, IL, and he was on fire, as was the crowd. The cool thing was there were all age groups there. Lots of youngsters (home-schooled) that had made their own signs (and seniors with canes, walkers, and crutches), etc. Most in attendance were [friendly] evangelicals; we were one of a handful of Catholics. :)
do you think Romney has never said or will say or do anything stupid? will you want to dump him when he does?
Since Santorum wasnt really a conservative (other than the fact he wanted to ban all methods of birth control), Id say we dodged a lot of bullets when he lost.Santorum mentioned the damage that contraception has done to America but he wasn't looking to ban all methods of birth control.
You might notice that papa hasn’t had what it takes to answer but a couple more noobs have come to his defense.
someone who misspeaks and corrects themselves quickly is “ilk” now?
you don’t think Romney ever did that?
has he ever denounced RomneyCare?
I ain’t voting for R and his ilk &R in November
I luv when the semi-literate attempt to express themselves!
Romney could have been stopped dead in his tracks right here in Michigan if it weren't for his establishment buds changing the rules AFTER the vote. He's a dishonest man. So discouraging. I'm still praying for some type of miracle.
That was a typo. Screw you!
