Tropical Storm Isaac threatens to dampen the Republican National Convention Monday in Tampa, Florida. National media outlets are having a grand time anticipating a Grand Old Party washout. Tampa mayor Bob Buckhorn (D) announced Wednesday that he is absolutely prepared to call off the convention next week, with anticipated attendance of 70,000 delegates, party officials, journalists, protesters and others. Buckhorn has not indicated that he would attempt to mitigate liberal protests or a hastily planned Joe "Plugs" Biden visit to Tampa during the convention.
Time will tell. Stay tuned...

He said there would be no shelters for the public and it sounded like they were not going to assist folks in evacuation either?? Basically told people to prepare to shelter in place or make arrangements to evacuate if ordered.
They only have around 36 hours or so. Is Blanco advising this democrat shill or what?
Hmmmm.....did I hear him wrong??
That’s what I heard, too.
I haven’t been on today because I’ve been on the Ipad instead of the mac. Hope you’re ok. We’ve had rain and minor wind, electricity went out briefly once (like just long enough to make the cable box have to reboot and I had to reset the digital clocks). Otherwise, it’s been very much a big nadaburger in Delray Beach so far (and I’m thrilled). Hope you are fine. I’m going to look downthread.
Well, he’s just a mess!
All righty then. This is gonna get interesting. If I were there, I would be getting out just in case...NOW.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu declares state of emergency in New Orleans
I’m just tired of crappy weather weekends, which we have had a lot of this summer. Why can’t we have a sunshinacane? That would rock!
this is the obama of storms
.
Ok, it’s going through now....
thank you!!
that is too too funny. I just heard some thunder, but it’s not even raining here right now, and I would say the wind is “breezy”.
There are no shelters in New Orleans. That’s why they used the Superdome last time. After that fiasco, I suspect they do not want the place looted again. The hurricane plans there are to leave, or enter the taller buildings. These buildings had all the windows and contents sucked out in Katrina. There is nowhere in that bowl that is safe for large numbers of people. A levee failure or any other incident could lead to mass death.
Yea, but the 2nd go round of this thing could be catastrophic...
Kinda like the 2nd go round of Obama would be...
So you might be on to something....
I guess one thing that is good is that there are not as many people there anymore. Most moved away from the place....especially the ones that lived in the hardest hit areas and depended on government to do everything.
nBC owned weather channel carried the NO democrat mayor’s presser but not the republican governor Jindal’s . Don’t anyone tell me they are not democrat Obama shills!!
I still have family and friends there. Thankfully, they are smart enough to move out.

Great to hear from you Pen.I didn’t know that about him. Kicking the global warmers around puts a whole new light on him for me.Glad to hear that.Looks like the eye is due to hit Key west soon.We have a high tide at 6:01. I’m gonna check but don’t really expect much.
Goodone Elle,I second that.!!
Keep us posted. Looks like most of the storms and rain are past ya now.
Great to see you around too. I took a long break after Mom died last Sept. 11, but getting back in the swing again. Having some fun battling libs all over the Internet on Twitter....and Discus too.....lol.
