Tropical Storm Isaac threatens to dampen the Republican National Convention Monday in Tampa, Florida. National media outlets are having a grand time anticipating a Grand Old Party washout. Tampa mayor Bob Buckhorn (D) announced Wednesday that he is absolutely prepared to call off the convention next week, with anticipated attendance of 70,000 delegates, party officials, journalists, protesters and others. Buckhorn has not indicated that he would attempt to mitigate liberal protests or a hastily planned Joe "Plugs" Biden visit to Tampa during the convention.
Time will tell. Stay tuned...

I wish they would scrap it all together and have to postpone it to later, after the DNC convention... I know that’s not how it’s SUPPOSED to go... but hey, it’s a storm, nothing we could about it.... This is a crucial year for Repubs to have the “last say” convention style...CRUCIAL, because the DNC is going to be nothing but a friggin LIE FEST!!
I wonder of Obama will be blamed for blowing holes in the levies this time if it comes to that (as Bush was last time)?
Hey there!!
Hope all is well with you and yours. I think all forecasters get their butts kicked by mother nature sometimes...lol. I just like him cause he kicks global warmer’s butt on a daily basis...lol. Been following him on Twitter and he was calling for this storm to head west towards NOLA for a few days now.
Time will tell. Be safe!
Now make it go away
.
I know what you mean but I am afraid it would blow the RNC budget too bad. We already have millions in this deal...might as well let the show go on.
Grand Isle issues mandatory evacuation order

GRAND ISLE, La. - Grand Isle has called for a mandatory evacuation of campers and tourists immediately (1:30 p.m.).
All island residents are required to leave by 9 a.m. Monday.
Sorry- I’ve clicked on it a few times and it is fine from here..don’t know why you’re not getting it??
I have a lot of faith in Jindal’s ability to handle this storm if it comes that way. It is comforting to have him at the helm now instead of Blanco...lol.

it's been been a failure .... all hype and no substance
this isn't even a good tropical storm
I don't think we've had more than an inch or two of rain
.
Well be safe! Thanks for the first hand reports. I enjoy reading them and keeping up with what is happening.

Real disaster was 2 weeks ago when Hubigs factory burned down.
You’re thinking of Joe Bastardi, who was at Accuweather - an while he was a head expert forecaster (and their #1 hurricane specialist), he wasn’t in charge of the company.
He’s now with a couple others at weatherbell.com... and still very active.
While I’m here, I will say it’s good that Joe was wrong on the forecast for today: no explosive development to this point. Key West is gonna get hit hard, but only with a minimal hurricane, which they should be able to handle.
I'll tell you exactly what would happen if Katrina II were to occur:
1. The Republicans would be villified for having their party in Tampa while a disaster was happening;
2. Most of the 'blame' would go to Bobby Jindal.
3. Obama and Biden would be getting photo-ops ina dozen different places with lots of sound-bites about reassuring residents and promising tons of federal money.
And if no disaster occurs, the media will shower the DRats with praise for a successful prior rebuild.
Yeah, that was awful. I can’t believe though that someone bought a pie for $500 (I think) on ebay?
They’re planning on staying here; real outpouring from the community to help the owner.
That was a big nothing
I officially re-name this storm:
.
You are sooooo correct!
Stay safe, everyone...
