Rep. Akin Is An Idiot but the Media Thinks You Are Too
After witnessing the nonstop news cycle revolving around the frankly idiotic comments of Rep. Todd Akin, the so-called main stream media is now working tirelessly to try to impute Akins moronic view on legitimate rape to the entire Republican party. Dont believe me? Read the latest headlines from the organized, leftist media. Obama and his media surrogates want the public to think that this soon-to-be-former Representative represents us all. I didnt vote in the Missouri primary for this d-bag, did you?
But the media seems all too happy to ignore the outrage from the Republicans like Chris Christie, Jan Brewer, Scott Walker, Mitch McConnell, Lisa Murkowski, Scott Brown, Ron Johnson, Mark Levin, Sarah Palin, and even the Tea Party Express (oh wait theyre all crazy sexists right?). Romney has called for him to step down and the GOP has even pulled funding for him. We here at NakedDC are also calling for him to drop out after these comments.

Yes and the GOP needs to change the discussion back to Obama and the degenerate Democrat Party.
Did the Soviet press work like this? No access to any real critics. Stories rewritten for them. Told what to ask. Given talking points daily.
Worse to live in a police state or a country where the press gives up its rights for ideology?
The Soviet propaganda machine was never as efficient as the American mainstream media.
The media bork republicans all the time and the republicans join in to bring down their own. Akin’s pro-life misstatement is the perfect example. Yet, no matter how outrageous a gaffe is made by a democrat, he is given
a pass.
Republicans have come up with another McCain to
run for office and I will be really surprised if he is elected even tho the country is in total chaos. Once this election is between Romney/Obama, just imagine what be launched on Romney. I’ll remember how well he defended Akin for being too pro-life.
The fact that Akin has an ego so big that he thinks he can do as he pleases without consequence makes me want him to drop out even more. This guy is clueless and just the kind of idiot we don’t need running
>> moronic view on legitimate rape
WTF is “illegitimate rape”!!!
He and his little contingent of crackpots are delusional and insane. I am mad as hell over this and his bs holier than thou idiocy.
absolutely.
So What is the response.
Talk about the econonmy.
Ask them is they are trying to cover Hussain by focusing on a mere mistatement instead of the real problems facing Americans.
Well said.
I think the Dems paid Akin to play the part.
Americans aren't going to go for it.
Illegitimate rape would be the percentage of rapes that are falsely reported, either because no sexual encounter took place, or because a consensual sexual encounter took place that the woman reported as rape for various reasons. Research on this subject suggests that the “alibi” is a primary reason for these consensual encounters falsely reported as rape. The woman gets pregnant or contracts a disease, and decides that to save face, she needs to report the encounter as rape. It happens more often than your average feminist wants to admit.
I think Akin, on the other hand, actually meant to use the term “forcible rape” which is a distinction between the violent act of rape and statutory rape where the contact is consensual but the victim is underage and therefore deemed by our culture to be incapable of giving true consent (even though she can give consent to go and get an abortion without notifying her parents). Confusing “legitimate” with “forcible” really could only be done by someone who thinks that statutory rape is somehow not “actual” rape. For that reason alone, Akin should go. Add in his inability to realize that he’s placed the party in an untenable position and his failure to heed the calls of sensible people to step down, and we can pretty much see that he’s completely unqualified to be a Senator.
On the other point, about the women’s bodies being able to “shut that whole thing down,” I think that he’s being horribly mistreated in the way that it is being reported. I see media types and people on Facebook and here on FR talking about how Akin “said that women have a magical switch that prevents them from getting pregnant if they are raped.” That is simply NOT what he said. He said that if a woman is raped, her body has a way of shutting that whole thing down. He didn’t say that if she were inseminated, that her body could just decide not to get pregnant. On another website, I saw a video where this woman was describing being raped, and she talks about how her attacker was unable to perform sexually because she wasn’t wet, and how she realized that he might kill her out of embarassment, so she tried to soothe him by telling him that it wasn’t his fault, it was her fault. What she describes is her body employing a natural defense mechanism against the rapist - it failed to lubricate the way it would in a normal sexual encounter, and as a result, in her case, at least, the rapist couldn’t perform.
That doesn’t happen in all rapes. In some rapes, the woman actually does get aroused, which does not mean that she wanted to be raped or that she enjoyed it. It’s simply a physiological response. In other cases, even though she doesn’t become aroused, the rapist is able to perform anyway. But, it does seem that in those cases where the woman’s body is not responding to the unwanted sexual contact, it is a natural subconscious physiological effort to “shut that whole thing down.”
>> Akin, on the other hand, actually meant to use the term forcible rape
>> Confusing legitimate with forcible really could only be done by someone who thinks that statutory rape is somehow not actual rape. For that reason alone, Akin should go.
I agree with the consequence, but the condition relies on the assumption, not the fact.
I’m not aware that Akin clarified his use of the term “legitimate”. If not, he must. To accuse him of promoting an illegal position on rape is not wise in my opinion. But the demand for clarification is “legitimate”.
I was surprised to learn about all the reproductive experts we have doubling as journalists, talk radio hosts, and keyboard commandos.
I appreciate the copious reply.
