“Legitimate rape” became a Twitter trending topic in the U.S. this afternoon after liberal blog Talking Points Memo posted a video of Rep. Todd Akin claiming that victims of “legitimate rape” are unlikely to become pregnant.

The article claims there are only about 200 pregnancies resulting from assault rape each year. That is less than I had assumed. Interesting info.

Well, a lawyer working at Osan AB in Korea told me almost all the ‘rape’ cases he dealt with were women getting drunk and sleeping with a guy at the end of a date, and then deciding a few days later it was ‘rape’.
If a girl goes out with a guy, has a date, takes him back to her apartment, is roaring drunk, sleeps with him and no one nearby hears any protest and there is no sign of force - is it rape? Do women “never lie about these things”?
Sometimes, even a good candidate may shoot his own foot and lose. It might be the case here. There’s a reason he’s the chosen candidate by the Dhims.
If he said this, he deserves to lose!

I’m saying that the candidate was probably trying to differentiate forcible stranger rape from a “date rape” that takes place in questionable circumstances. Are you saying that no woman has ever, ever falsely accused a man to exempt herself from moral criticism?

Biggest shock is watching how quickly GOP establishment will throw Akin under.

I’ll say this: If a girl goes on a date with a guy, invites him into her apartment, is surrounded by other people who never hear any protest and there is no physical evidence of force, and it takes her several days to decide it was rape, then it doesn’t meet the definition of rape, IMHO.
I’m all in favor of executing rapists. But I’m not in favor of blindly taking a woman’s word that a sexual act was rape...
