A newly recruited Afghan village policeman opened fire on his American allies on Friday, killing two U.S. service members minutes after they handed him his official weapon in an inauguration ceremony. It was the latest in a disturbing string of attacks by Afghan security forces on the international troops training them.

We can’t just cut and run like cowards.
In the last 18 months we have killed many top Al-Qaeda leaders including bin Laden, al-Rahman and al-Awlaki.
Must finish the mission.
To: Timber Rattler
The top commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, Gen. John Allen, said in response: "The pride of the Afghan people has been smeared by killers who pose as soldiers and police."
Allen is a sorry tool for the application of the most horrific strategy employed upon the history of warfare concerning a movement that refuses to assimilate, COIN. To continue this strategy is an example of conjuring up Benedict Arnold's spirit and fostering it upon the Generals and Commanders operating this "war" or whatever this is.

I don’t care about the “pride of the Afghan people,” I care about our dead servicemen, killed implementing a truly stupid policy ordered from above.
As for the Afghan people, their pride doesn’t seem to be very wounded and in fact they’re probably out there high-fiving each other in their hovels.

Your opinion is duly noted, and if the kiling of these people like Bin Laden meant that there was no one to take their place I would agree.
IMO we would have to kill every Muslim in Afghanistan to win. If that would finsh the mission let’s get on with it, but fighting with todays ROE is just getting our men killed. Get out.

Get out troops the hell out of there. Leave behind NOTHING but enough shovels for these savages to bury each other, before or after they are dead.
The nastiest thing we can do is to leave these 10th century idiots to themselves.
It may be “politically incorrect” to say, but a single young AMERICAN life is worth more than that entire sewer.

So whats the mission now? The objective is the same as it has always has been.
Disrupting, dismantling and defeating Al-Qaeda. Deny sponsorship, support and sanctuary to Al-Qaeda.
We have killed so many top Al-Qaeda leaders. There is only one left and that is al-Zawahiri.
To: moonshot925
"There is only one left and that is al-Zawahiri." I would normally ROTFLMAO at that statement but since many service men and women are getting killed over an idiotic strategy I relegate your excuse as just sad.
In order to grasp your reasoning I must ask this: Is al-Zawahiri the center of gravity? What makes you think al-Zawahiri is or any other man?

So you are saying if we kill/capture al-Zawahiri then the whole show will be over? Did I get that right? Do you have any idea what we are trying to do over there? Hint, it's not exclusive to getting al-Zawahiri. Also any idea how expansive that particular network is? You are a fool if you think al-Zawahiri is the “only one” and the center of gravity in the “war on Islamic terror”.
