Klein: Hillary Turned Down Veep Spot
Townhall.com ^ | August 17, 2012 | Larry Kudlow

Posted on 08/17/2012 7:32:16 AM PDT by Kaslin

According to author Edward Klein, Obama has put out feelers to Hillary Clinton about accepting the VP spot on the ticket, but Hillary has said no. In the exclusive video below, Klein tells Larry Kudlow why Clinton is reluctant to take the number two spot.

Klein: Until just a couple of weeks ago, the White House was putting out feelers to see if Hillary would accept the vice presidential nod and replace Joe Biden. Bill Clinton was, I'm told, urging his wife to accept the number two slot. He saw this as a great launching pad for her for running in 2016. But then Hillary had lunch in the White House a couple of weeks ago with Valerie Jarrett, Michelle's best friend, senior adviser to both the First Lady and the President.

Kudlow: Just about the biggest Lefty in the White House.

"Hillary is not dumb enough to hop aboard this sinking ship."

That is exactly what I thought when the spin started coming out that his had nothing to do with making the switch. Now, the speculation can begin about who he might try to find in the next 22 days.

My thoughts all the way. The clintoons want barry to lose and sure don’t want to have been a part of a second administration for barry then run.

They stand a better chance in the gamble against the pubbies than they do running after barry.

If barry wins they also take the chance of no elections and no country to run for president in.

Hill is going to be an old broad before she runs, if she runs.

roger that. Hillary's ONLY chance for 2016 would be for Romney to win and do as bad a job with the economy as Obama has.

We did see the mask come off when he said:

“You didn’t build that”

He was off the teleprompter and showed his true beliefs/nature.

“Obama has put out feelers to Hillary Clinton”

I’m trying not to picture this.

Hillary will be 69 in 2016.

Adam West will be 69 in 2030. Sarah Palin will be 69 in 2033. Paul Ryan will be 69 in 2039. Marco Rubio, Kristi Noem and Bobby Jindal will be 69 in 2040. Adam Kizinger will be 69 in 2047. Just to name a few up-and-comers in the GOP that will play a major role over the next 25 years.

I remember when the Republican Party was mostly represented by old warhorses like Bob Dole, Gerald Ford, and John McCain. Nice to see a lot of youth and vigor coming up the party ranks and it bodes well for the future. I'm hard pressed to name any young Democrats who are seen as up and comers.

Palin hit a home run for consevatives on that one!

Unless Obama and Clinton, in a moment of bipartisanship, take her up on that challenge and thank her for such a great suggestion that "both parties clearly agree on."

Why is Hillary the only name being mentioned as a replacement for Biden? Is the democrat party so devoid of talent that there's no one else with better credentials than Slo-Joe?
Hillary is a member of this failed administration. I don't really see how her addition to the ticket would be much of a game changer.

Well, there is Artur Davis, formerly from Alabama.

Oh wait, nevermind...

Obama and Clinton publicly agreeing with Sarah Palin would be the political equivalent of Kirk, Spock and Scotty all announcing the codes needed to trigger the Enterprise self-destruct sequence.

I figured it was pretty much a crock when they started talking about how Hillary wouldn't want to be on the ticket because she'd have to defend Obama's 'far left wing agenda'. Where does Obama's agenda differ from Clinton's in any regard? Healthcare? Clinton was for it years ago. Taxing the rich? Clinton was for that years ago. Spending on social programs and education? Clinton was for that years ago. Obama's agenda is Clinton's agenda and vice versa.

I think Clinton doesn't want it because it's a lose-lose proposition for her. She's had a nice run as Secretary of State. She's going out on top in terms of popularity. She may be back in 2016 but I have my doubts about even that.

LOL — Obama is SUCH an idiot! I hate her politics, but the woman is shrewd... I would’ve LOVED to see the look on Obama’s face when she denied him! I hope she literally laughed in his face!!

I suspect Uncle Joe is going to come down with some brain tumor or something so he can be replaced....

There's a lot of ways that Obama could make Biden disappear...
Gridlock!
