From the article:
Picking a Catholic running mate...Wait a minute...I've been told HUNDREDS...even possibly THOUSANDS of times...that Mitt's Mormonism is irrelevant to the POTUS office...
Why would either (a) some conservatives "hypocritically" deem Catholicism as somehow relevant to the VP office;
Or, (b) Will we see all the "Mormonism is irrelevant" posters suddenly show up on this and the hundreds of other threads to preach their same "religion is irrelevant" message...
Or is Mormonism getting "sacred cow" protection...by those on their religiously hypocritcal bent???

One reason is evidential. The left is screaming out loud!

Hon, the organization linked here is "Catholic Vote." The very purpose of the organization is to promote Catholic political values (hence hence two-finger quotes around each word, ..."Catholic".... "Vote"). They see Ryan as being an example of this while Biden ---also a self-described Catholic --- is an opposite.
You'll notice they're not supporting Biden.
That's the point.

Very interesting point about Biden and Ryan both being Catholics. Not that I’m expecting the VP debate to be anything more than a blowout...
In fact I’d bet the Biden people are working feverishly today to reschedule it — for some time in December ;-)

1. Picking a Catholic running mate means that the Vice Presidential debate will feature two people who profess the Catholic faith but who are on opposite sides of life, marriage and religious liberty. Unintended consequences (I hope):
1. Splitting the Catholic vote
2. Fomenting schism over "what does it mean to be Catholic/Christian in the political realm?" 3. Legitimizing (backhandedly via Biden) "cafeteria Catholics".

Catholics up north need to get a grip of their lives and undersand that being pro fecal sex and killing babies is not Catholic.
Shame how so many call themselves something but ignore what they are supposed to follow.

To make it a little clear: the reason why Ryan is getting CV's endorsement while Biden is not, is that while both of them are Catholic in "church affiliation," only one of them is Catholic in "values."
If there were no Catholics in the race at all, CV would support a pro-life, pro-liberty, pro-marriage Protestant, Mormon, or Jew. And they would oppose a Protestant, Mormon, or Jew (or Catholic) who was an opponent on lifel -liberty-and-marriage issues.
So it comes down to values, not denominaton.
