I could see Powell. It won’t be anyone from the Senate again. The Senate’s in play, and they won’t take a chance on losing another seat through a VP pick. A Hispanic, maybe. No governors I can think of that would be a big-time pick.
The DNC might (probably will!) double down on the “historical” aspect of having TWO black candidates on the ticket, one being a “conservative” from the Bush administration.
I’m predicting Powell. Call me out in a week.
