UPDATE:: NBC News has three sources telling the network that Rep. Paul Ryan, (R) Wisconsin, is Mitt Romney's choice for Vice President.
Also the National Review reports the following: Earlier today, a charter plane took off in Boston, stopped in Chicago, then flew to the tiny airport in Janesville, Wis. Janesville, of course, is the hometown of Representative Paul Ryan, a top vice-presidential contender.

The two most powerful attributes of Ryan is 1- he has an great ability to take the mundane and make it understandable and relevant AND 2- he's likeable by a majority of people's standards.
who did you volunteer for during the primary? Name the candidate.
To you and all of the “they’re not conservative enough” whiners here, YOU didn’t work hard enough for your candidate during the primaries.
Paul Ryan is an excellent choice for VP. If you wanted a different presidential candidate, you should have worked harder for him or her. It’s easy to sit behind a computer and complain, it’s harder to actually do something.
Oh, yeah. That’s the plan. Snort.
Rverybody here touting Rubio needs to remember that he rolls with mccain and graham. Think about that.

Everybody
Barry, Michelle, Sasha, Malia, Harry, Nancy, and Valerie all thank you. And Mr. Soros sends his regards.
So do Eric, Kathleen, Timothy, Janet, and countless czars.
Please! According to you posting preferences, if Romney had chosen the perfect VP - he would still be wrong. To claim that a Ryan choice means Romney and Co. was trying to lose is...well...just particularly astute...or stupid.
Elizabeth Warren is already campaigning on student loan forgiveness in the MA Senate race w Scott Brown. Warren seems to be the bell weather for which way Obama will head; she also was first to say ‘You didn’t build that!’.
Someone’s thread last night called it for Ryan; can’t remember who.
Blame Shame Flame or Beg I wont be voting for R/R..
‘Who are you voting for?’
A TOASTER OVEN....BWAHAHAAH
‘Blame Shame Flame’
o my godddd ding dang dong...North of Missoula is the largest population of nesting common loons in the western United States.
I think you sum it up well. We can’t out celebrity Obama. So let’s try to get substance back into the campaign with Ryan.
A few thoughts for all the bed wetters over this choice.
-For once we no longer need to fear the MSM narrative that our candidates are dopes. For the MSM to attack now, it has to be on the issues, not whether our candidate is an intellectual lightweight, partied too much in college or made it because of their Dad. I want to talk about issues.
-Florida may present problems but Ryan has held a “lean Dem” district for over a decade. He knows how to appeal to Midwest voters. WI, MI and Iowa now are in play. Obama now has to defend those States.
This pick has risk, but it is a different type of risk than we are used to. It is solely on the Medicare thing. On every other attribute, including being a very likable but effective attack dog against Obama, Ryan fits the bill.
Possibly, but I doubt Rubio would have turned it down. Deep down he may be relieved for the reasons you mention, but if Romney offered it to him he would have accepted.
I can’t think of anyone who has ever rejected a VP offer.
Some guys have made it known ahead of time they’re not interested so it’s never offered. But no one says no if they’re asked out on to the floor.
As for Obama being a hell of a campaigner, I don’t know.
Sure, he was great when Bush had a 25% approval rating and the country was in a deep recession. Gore and Kerry could have been great campaigners in that situation. Kerry would have won easily in 2008, as would Gore.
I don’t know how good he is when the table isn’t perfectly set for him.
That won’t bring my horse out of the barn. Stayin home.
Have joined the “ Let things get real bad so we can have a real fight” crowd, and watch the GOP destroyed. They have earned it.I will not vote for a progressive ticket in the face of national liberal fascism. The GOP can GTH.
The GOP response to an unqualified usurper in office, and his liberal fascist social movemnet is underwhelming to say the least. The C and B GOP team has conspired to prevent the GOP A team from taking the field in the election, and they all can rot in hell, whether they win or not.
This is the beginning of the end of the GOP and it is the end of the 1st Republic, unless this ticket is trounced and nullified at the GOP convention, replaced with say, a Palin / Alan West Ticket.
Mitt Romney is a sick joke. The liberal fascists are already boring him a new one.He is not capable of waging the campaign which will save our country from the curse of fascism. What a bunch of idiots they are at RNC.
Ho Hum. If you live in a battleground state go ahead and vote for the Kolobian. If you live in a solid red or blue state vote Goode and give the GOP a message or we will have RINOS from them from here to eternity.
