Alleged Wisconsin Gunman Wade Michael Page's Ex-Girlfriend Arrested

Police say they have arrested the former girlfriend of Wade Michael Page, the man who allegedly shot and killed six people in a Sikh temple, after authorities say they found a gun in her Milwaukee home.

Cook was taken into custody on the grounds that she is prohibited from having a gun as a convicted felon, a federal law enforcement official said. Cook was convicted in 2002 for fleeing and eluding a traffic officer.

Milwaukee police released a statement Tuesday after the arrest of Misty Cook, saying, "In a joint investigation with the FBI, the South Milwaukee Police Department has arrested Misty Cook on the crime of felon in possession of a firearm. Charges will be sought through the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office."

There's no indication Cook was involved with the attack. Much like her ex-boyfriend, according to the Anti-Defamation League, Cook was involved in white supremacy. The ADL has photos of Cook wearing a T-shirt with the name of the extremist right-wing group Volksfront. The group said that Cook had not been involved since 2008.

University of Nebraska criminology professor Pete Simi didn't comment on Cook but says he interviewed Page for a project researching white supremacists from 2001-03.

"When he joined his first white power music band, this really changed his life," he said, adding that Page told him his neo-Nazi beliefs came after serving in the Army.

Liberal Thinking deconstructed:
1- White guy shoots up a minority church.
2- White guy is a member of a “white power rock band” that plays bad music with hateful racist lyrics
3- “White power rock band” music must be to blame

1- Black guy commits rape, theft, murder, ad nauseum
2- Black guy is constantly listening to and imitating “black rap” music with hateful racist lyrics
3- White guy and lack of funding must be to blame

Sorry, I don’t get it.

A felon for running away from police? Given how often police shoot people (and especially dogs) it’s not surprising anyone would want to get away. But making it a felony, the same as murder?

That is a major problem in this country today. There are thousands of ways to become a “felon”.

Fleeing and Eluding a Traffic Officer?

I’m not here to stick up for Nazis, but that seems like pretty thin gruel for terminating someone’s Second Amendment rights.

This is one reason you NEVER go to court without a lawyer, NEVER!

Even telling a white lie to a cop is a felony everywhere in this country.

If you had a loved one who was killed by some clown as she was leading the police on a chase, you'd probably think differently.

If you're willing to get involved in a police chase over a flipping traffic ticket, you deserve to be classed as a felon.

I would also point out that the murderer in this case was just a complete loser, a useless drunken bum who snapped because his girlfriend left him.

If he had not been a member of these groups, he would have just gone to a church or a mall and done the exact same thing that he did at the gurdwara.

This is not a competent, together individual who would never otherwise have done this except that he became "so twisted by hate" that he made a calculated, ideological decision.

Ideology was not his motivation for his cowardly attack, it was just the determining factor in which target he chose.

If a felon is an individual that commits a felony, what do we call someone that commits a "mister mina."

In Texas, eluding in a vehicle is as a bare minimum a Class B misdemeanor or state jail felony, first offense. A 3rd degree felony if they have ever been convicted of this before, or if someone is injured (including them) in the process. Or a 2nd degree if someone is killed by them or the police in the process.

And it is not exclusive to other applicable offenses, such as manslaughter in the last case.

They mean it.

I’ll add that I actually got to see this in practice once, while driving through West Texas. And clearly with “aggravating circumstances.” I’m just amazed how it happened in the first place.

Driving on the freeway, I see a Cadillac driving at high speed (90+) on the access, with a State Trooper close behind, lights flashing. Okay, that’s bad enough.

However, the Cadillac had New York plates, was decked out as a pimpmobile, including shag interior and fuzzy dice, and by all appearances there was a Nubian gentleman wearing a pimp suit driving.

This made me wonder at the time if someday, assuming I live to an extremely old age, if that Nubian will ever get out of prison.

“Alleged gunman”

Hey ABC!

He died with the gun in his hand.

Drop the “Alleged” as you don’t have to presume his innocence for legal proceedings.

It’s is a felony because it is supposed to apply to street racing. Of course the police can charge you with anything because they are criminals with a badge. If you don’t pull over quick enough, you get charged with it. Cops are azzhats who need to be avoided at all costs.

What did she do, hand them the gun or have it laying out in plain sight or was it in his stuff? She should have known the cops would come looking for his stuff and anything within her apartment or basement would be linked to her.
