WASHINGTON -- Federal investigators had “looked at” Sikh temple gunman Wade Michael Page more than once because of his associations with right-wing extremists and the possibility that he was providing funding to a domestic terrorist group, but law enforcement officials at the time determined there was not enough evidence of a crime to open an investigation, a senior U.S. law enforcement official said.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media, would not say Monday which law enforcement agency had considered investigating Page, or when.

The investigators were probably told by someone high up not to continue to track the man. They probably figured that the ends would justify the means - hundreds of dead Mexicans for the same cause what’s a few Indians? After all, they have a big population over there.

You knowwwww,, seriously. They admit they were watching him at some point and thinking he was funding violent types. He was also known to that Southern Poverty Law Center.
YET, he sailed right through the background check without even a few days delay? I know all kinds of people who get a delay just cause their name is common, like Jones or Smith.
Is it really _that_ hard to imagine they would let him buy and take the gun, hoping he would “walk” it to his neo-nazi criminal friends? If it blew up in their face, would Holders FBI admit it?
Weird. Loughner and Holmes were on peoples’ “radar” also. I don’t think guns are the problem here. I think the problem is people being afraid they’ll get sued if they say anything.
