I have to deal all day long with asshole buyers telling me what a good deal they are getting from another company that imports from China. I have started telling them I hope they enjoy their blood money and kiss them off. It hurts to lose the business, but I don’t believe how many of the corporate buyers I have dealt with over the past decade have dropped us already...screw them. I hope the chicoms let all these idiots build factories and shops over there and take them away from them. I’ll stick with american suppliers and sell to American small businesses until I got to do something else.
Here’s hoping you will be still standing strong whennot ifthe companies that the buyers work for fall.
... what a good deal they are getting from another company that imports from China.”
Was at dinner with a group of people last week, most of whom I had never met. One guy was complaining about what poor service they are receiving from their Chinese supplier, costs have gone up, quality gone way down. Said he’s been telling his supervisor about it for many weeks but someone higher up won’t let them change and instead wants him to tell U.S. suppliers they would have to beat the “good deals” they were getting from Chinese if they really wanted their business. He’s quitting at the end of this quarter but suspects he’ll be terminated before that because he chooses not to play that game. Not sure there are many more guys in positions like his but at least he seems like he wants to be one of the good guys and supportive of U.S. companies.
We'll see what happens before the deep cuts have to be taken to save businesses. This is "pre-survival" mode. The past four years were "duck and cover" but now with obamacare being enacted, we are all screwed.
