As a staunch Conservative, Romney is MY MAN!
I am aware that many conservatives, Tea Party, and strict constitutionalists, have deep apprehension about Romney.. That is mostly based on what he actually did as the Governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007.. Past facts, are almost always the very best indicator of the true intent of a future development.. I couldn't agree more..
FACTS: Mitt Romney, is a fine husband and father, and was and is also a successful and an astute businessman, for a much longer period of time, than a one term Governor..
FACTS: Mitt Romney, has a life that is an open book, picked at, and dissected as only a Republican Candidate for a higher political office will be..
FACTS: Mitt Romney, has lived in and successfully conducted businesses, and held the highest political office in Massachusetts, arguably one of the MOST LIBERAL States in The USA..
FACTS: There are at least 65,000 CEO's of major corporations in the USA, Mitt Romney, was chosen, selected, and accepted the unthinkable, and thankless task of resurrecting, restructuring, reconfigured and managed the 2002 Winter Olympics as President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee, and independently turn the troubled games into a visual, as well as a financial success.. Saving the reputation of OUR Country, in what was viewed before his arrival, to become a major disaster, of International proportions.. (NO SMALL ACHIEVEMENT)
FACTS: To successfully manage a business, enterprise, or a State for that matter, one MUST adapt to the circumstances, conditions, restrictions, and limitations of the environment with-which you MUST operate within..
FACTS: MITT ROMNEY IS A WINNER.. He has shown to be an astute, reliable, honorable, and successful, ADAPTER, something that has become the single most insidious fodder that his detractors have twisted, masked, and morphed into something we MUST fear.. Total BS..
FACTS: Our country is in trouble, FINANCIALLY, CULTURALLY, and MORALLY.. We need an ADAPTER, that can face the circumstances, conditions, restrictions, and limitations of the environment with-which we are currently living under..
THE FACTS POINT TO MITT ROMNEY as the only choice any red blooded patriot has this November!
“If we can’t agree on that simple FACT, we are doomed, not only in this election, but probably, forever..”
Carlo, I agree - obamao has already begun “fundamentally transforming America” in a very short period of time by using thuggery to push his fascist dreams.
I can’t think of a stronger word to describe what I feel regarding this regime other than primal fear.
Sometimes, I think the anti-Romney crowd here secretly want Obama to win so they have reason to whine and whine and whine about nObama for four more years. The pity is that they are not a lot different than the loony lefties that we had to endure for the first 8 years of this century.
Love Dubya or hate him, he did not steal the election in Florida, didn't trample on the rights of citizens, or was nearly as "stoopid" as the DUmmy, Code Pinkers and most of the population of the SF Bay Area would have you believe.

A staunch conservative that would vote for a liberal?
I question your resolve, Sir.
I understand the gravity of the situation and pragmatism and lesser of 2 evils, but you are fooling yourself thinking any of that qualifies as conservative, much less staunchness.
I can also understand thinking you are doing the right thing. Many join you, but please don't call it what it is not.
Mitt is not even remotely conservative and supporting a liberal and voting for exactly what conservatives hate disqualifies you from the label you claim.
The true label is not a flattering one.
Nowhere in my message did I attempt to describe Mitt Romney as a conservative.. I am voting for him for the same reason I hire Chef's with the ability to prepare extraordinary Ice Carvings, because my company is required to present extravagant carvings at various events..
There are some characteristics that are needed at times of vital need, and I want to have someone on hand, that specializes in those needs..
I'm not looking for a charismatic politician, we NEED a turn-around specialist.. Our government requires a mentally strong, adaptable, troubleshooter, that can take the mess that we are unfortunately confronted with, and clean it up.. I believe Romney is the man for the job with a past performance to prove it!
Nice try, but not even close.. I didn't post this to enter into a pissing contest over who has the purest heart! We to stop the bleeding.. We need to WIN the Presidency FIRST, but we also need a Congress that adheres to the Tea Party principles..
That too is our job.. We are close on both counts if we don't allow ourselves to get distracted.. We are on the same team, and I am telling you something that we both know, Obama has to go, NOW, not in 4 more years to prove some point!
The only man standing in his way is a good man, I brilliant practitioner that I believe we need at this time.. He is the right man, as I have outlined in a post above, with the mental heft to get it done!
bert, my MAN,
I knew I could stir some of the oldtimers if I started a good fight, like the good ole days.. and here you are.. HA!
Hi sweetheart, it’s been a while, I missed you.. We are back were we started fighting the GOOD WAR, at a time when the REAL needs to be said..
au contraire, my Man Jack, I never said that, I said I was, and I am.. BUT, he is the last man standing, and just happens to fit the bill.. Not who I/WE would have chosen, but not bad, considering the alternative.. LOL
Well alright.. I agree.. I think.. :)
Voting with you to beat the Obamanation and his administration.
How ya been?
Things are going great here—but I’m ready to march on DC at the drop of a hat—LOL! Another TEA Party march would do the trick!
Most definitely voting for Romney as voting for the alternative is unconceivable. Volunteering to bring as many as will fit in my car to the polls and urged my neighbors and friends to do likewise.
Thanks for sharing your views, dear carlo3b!
i’m with ya
What a load.
That is not my intention, although your 'purity' statement certainly can cause me to go that way.
We to stop the bleeding..
You will not 'stop the bleeding' with Romney. That is an impossibility... Like trying to stop a chest wound with a mortar round.
We need to WIN the Presidency FIRST, [...]
I disagree. Or should I say that even if Romney wins, we will not 'win the presidency'... So your idea of winning the presidency is not the same as mine. I will reiterate that the 'we' is Conservatives, *not* Republicans. If you think that supporting Romney and the big rhinestone 'R' is a 'we' thing, then you and I are on different planets altogether.
[...] but we also need a Congress that adheres to the Tea Party principles..
On this we can agree completely... Although it is my assertion that pimping for the Republican is sure to suppress turnout rather than encouraging it. I dare to say that supporting a 3rd party Conservative would do more for the down-ticket than you know... TEA parties need to stay true to their function if you want to see a 'Chick-Fil-A' happen in November.,. Pimping Romney with the TEA Parties will cause them to disintegrate.
[...] We are close on both counts if we don't allow ourselves to get distracted..
No, we are not close - anymore than 'we' were close with McCain... The degree that Conservative principles are being served is directly proportional to the win... and no one will try to sell the Republicans as serving any Conservative principles at all.
We are on the same team [...]
No, we are not... But I can see you from where I am upon occasion.
[...] and I am telling you something that we both know, Obama has to go, NOW, not in 4 more years to prove some point!
You misrepresent what is at stake. It isn't about 'proving some point'... It is about standing upon the principles that actually make us a 'we' - Without those principles, there is no 'we' at all. Willfully electing Romney means throwing every principle away - If they think they can win without those principles being served, why the hell would they serve them next time... or ever again? Are you willing to throw away the Christians and the Pro-Life plank in order to win? How about the civil libertarians and their principles of strict Constitutionalism? The Right to Keep and Bear Arms? Paramount Sovereignty? State Sovereignty? How much will you give up to your fears? And once having given it all up, what is left to call Conservatism?
I readily admit that Obama has to go. but I would submit that Romney cannot win, and never could, any more than McCain could. Oh the wailing and gnashing of teeth come November when all the hopes are dashed YET AGAIN... You see, the thing about that 'purity' bit is not about purity - It is about being attractive to the electorate:
Do you really think the Christians are going to vote for their enemy? For a guy who has been Pro-Choice through his entire career, and who is pro-gay marriage?
Do you really think the DefCons are going to vote for a non-military, non foreign policy gun grabber?
Do you really think the Constitutional conservatives will readily give up their passion for a big government RINO globalist?
Do you really think that fiscal conservatives believe the Keynesian bullcrap spouting from Romney's mouth?
It is a fallacy, FRiend. Just because these things are not important enough to you (y'all) to fight to preserve them doesn't mean they are not important to each of the factions that make up the Conservative Base. You can hype it any way you like and it isn't going to matter, because most of those folks won't even be paying attention until Sept/Oct, and they will all take one look at the record and turn up their noses, Just like what happened the last time.
But if we act now to lift up a Conservative... If someone is standing in the spotlight who DOES stand for these things, Folks will move heaven and earth to get out and vote. But that would have to start with the consensus that you talked about HERE, and too many here are appeasers or Republican more than Conservative... or driven to distraction by their fear.
I am under no illusions that such a thing will happen now, but I wish you would mark my words, so that next time you are ready to leave the Republican plantation and stand upon the solid ground of Conservatism... because it really won't happen until folks like you finally 'get it', and join us. I had hopes that McCain would be enough to get y'all fed up (and he was enough for many), but obviously, y'all are willing to quixotically chase your '!UP! the Middle' strategy yet another time.
Yeah, right. Like the two Bush adapters. That's what I'm afraid of.
JFK would have been very welcomed in today’s Republican party.
Teddy was more than a crazy uncle, and the rest of the Kennedy’s are extreme leftists.
MA voters may have been Reagan dems, but Reagan’s margin of victory was .15%.
I don’t know why SSM wasn’t put to a vote in MA, but you guys didn’t seem to oppose it. In Oregon, we collected signatures to put it on the ballot and it succeeded...wildly.
I don’t blame MA for anything, but you seem to feel the need to apologize for it.
Any damage done to your state was done long before Willard was governor. He didn’t destroy the Republican brand. If anything, it’s so tough to be a Republican and run for office in MA that they have to go to the left.
Before Romney, there was Weld, Swift and Cellucci, who are not conservative by any stretch of the imagination, except in MA.
I live in what was a deep blue state, and am hopeful that the legislature will go red this time, instead of tied. I very much understand your wishes, and your disappointments. But, please be more realistic about MA, and the state that it is. Romney didn’t ruin it. That was done long before he was governor.
I hope you had a good night’s sleep!
