Vante of Tucson, AZ Regrets Actions of Former CFO
Employee Has Left the Company
TUCSON, AZ--(Marketwire - Aug 2, 2012) - The following is a statement from Vante:
Vante regrets the unfortunate events that transpired yesterday in Tucson between our former CFO/Treasurer Adam Smith and an employee at Chick-fil-A. Effective immediately, Mr. Smith is no longer an employee of our company.
The actions of Mr. Smith do not reflect our corporate values in any manner. Vante is an equal opportunity company with a diverse workforce, which holds diverse opinions. We respect the right of our employees and all Americans to hold and express their personal opinions, however, we also expect our company officers to behave in a manner commensurate with their position and in a respectful fashion that conveys these values of civility with others.
We hope that the general population does not hold Mr. Smith's actions against Vante and its employees.

Chick-fil-A should reward that girl for putting up with that puke as politely as she did. Maybe pay her to make a series of commercials for the company. She could be their spokesperson and get compensated for it.

Good grief! Please, the guy’s kidding himself if he thinks he’s not gay. The constant reference to going over and “sitting” with the gays gives him away. He was anxious to make a connection.

It was a PDF file so I downloaded it. Interestingly, it shows he started with Avante in 2010.
This information on his personal financial issues dates back to 2009. No indication of what results he saw from his own financial woes, and I wonder if Vante was aware of this when they hired him. In any event, he enjoyed two + short years before putting himself back in trouble again...

They should promote that clerk to management, publicly.

Of course, Mr. Smith will blame the hateful bigoted Christian right, and not his own actions, for getting the can. Whatever. Free speech has consequences. Some win by having record breaking days, others lose by getting spectacularly zotted.

Sodomites that were thinking about participating in the ‘Kiss-In’ tomorrow might want to think twice...do you want YOUR employers seeing you on local or national television over the weekend playing kissy face with your same-sex partner in a protest against traditional marriage? Might be a lot of job openings come Monday morning...keep those resumes ready.

They did the right thing to save their hides. Good on them! I think they did the right thing because it was the right thing to do. No company should tolerate a member of its senior corporate officers embarrassing the company, especially so publicly.

When I contemplate the swiftness and finality of judgment about the former CFO and 'adjunct professor', I have to say that it is a fearsome and sobering thing.
Consider this my FRiends (no, I'm not trying to sound like John McLame), many if not all of us were raised in an age where this sort of mass online uprising was all but impossible, let alone even imagined except in the realm of science fiction.
The only way that joker could have ended up fired in say, 1970 would be if somehow a TV news crew had been at the Chick-fil-A and set up for some other purpose and recorded the events AND if it had 'gone national' to the big networks. The odds are that nobody, I mean NOBODY would have ever heard of it.
To paraphrase Samuel Morse in 1844, "What Hath DARPA Wrought?"

She should sue the same gay outfit that is suing CFA now, for creating an environment of fear, terror and intimidation. If you watch the video she starts breathing very rapidly when she sees his camera. She was a superstar of composure but she was scared. And like you said, the gaystopo will be out to get her now.
