Report: Chick-fil-A's public relations director dead of heart attack
The Daily Caller ^ | July 27, 2012 | Alex Pappas

Posted on 07/27/2012 12:02:56 PM PDT by Ranald S. MacKenzie

The head of public relations at Chick-fil-A died Friday morning of an apparent heart attack, according to a local news report.

WBRL News 3 in Georgia identified the employee as Donald A. Perry, the company’s vice president of Corporate Public Relations.

His death comes as Chick-fil-A finds itself embroiled in a public relations fiasco with the gay community and supporters of same-sex marriage protesting the company because of statements made by company president Dan Cathy.

Perry joined Chic-fil-A in 1983, according to information posted on the website of Hillcrest Church of Christ. He became an elder of the church in 1997.

The church biography said Perry “enjoys leading his church fellowship cell group, as well as working to help maintain harmony in the congregation.”

“One of the challenges sometimes is helping to reconcile differing views among members,” Perry said, according to the church, “but we work to keep unity of the faith.”

The Daily Caller will update with more details as they become available.

If it had been Mayor Menino dying of a heart attack...

What are you, retahdid?

"Mumbles" Menino is a bigger source of political gaffes and malaprops than "Plugs" Biden. Howie Carr would almost be out of good material if Menino wasn't coming down for breakfast tomorrow.

The Lord struck him down to teach him a lesson of who's really in charge

(A quote from the DUmmie Land thread you've cited).

But somehow The Lord had nothing to do with the hundreds of thousands of AIDS deaths in this country over the last 30 years.

I blame the gay community.

I blame the depraved sexual deviants of the gay sodomite community.

Homosexuals may have claimed the word "gay" and, like they do everything else, perverted its meaning. But that bunch is anything but gay in the true sense of the term. They are miserable, AIDS-infested beings who need to sincerely repent of their abominable sin. Then the healing process can start through Christ, the one and only path to authentic happiness and normal, healthy sexuality.

Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. -- Matthew 7:13

He was a Church of Christ elder, right? That’s like having a family of 100-500, give or take.

The size of the congregation would vary by locale of course.

Requiescat in pace. “Fought the good fight.” Earth is the poorer for it, heaven is richer.

(Disclaimer: I don’t go to a congregation of that denomination and don’t concur with all its particular theology. But they are most definitely Christians.)

DON PERRY
Don, a native of Claysville, GA, a stone's throw from the Florida line, was the vice president for public relations for Chic-fil-A, the unique company whose fast foods stores stay closed on Sundays.

Baptized in 1971 at Callaway Gardens, GA., Don, his wife Marilyn and family relocated to Atlanta in 1983 from Louisville, KY when Don left GE for Chic-fil-A. They attended church first at the Simpson Street congregation. Later they moved to Hillcrest, where Don later became an elder in 1997. An avid golfer, Don enjoyed the game with partners ranging from business associates to members of the Church. He was also a flower gardener, seldom happier than when kneeling in the soil tending his beauties.

In the spiritual realm, Don enjoyed leading his church fellowship cell group, as well as working to help maintain harmony in the congregation.

"One of the challenges sometimes is helping to reconcile differing views among members," he said, "but we work to keep unity of the faith."

Don called on his managerial instincts and customer service experience as well as His strong Biblical foundation to help lead and guide the Church.

His greatest satisfaction? "Talking about the church, teaching, and being rewarded when someone 'gets it,' and embraces the Savior,” he says.

The Perrys have three adult sons, Brandon, Jason, Kris.

I blame the gay community.

Would you want to rephrase that as "the queer community"? That is, after all, what they are. They're not "gay," they're "queer," as in "odd."

So sad, and I hope the rainbow agenda is satisfied. Poor guy probably couldn’t take the unnecessary stress of the past weeks.

God rest his soul.

Amen.

Chick-fil-A is doing great business. Their restaurants are at the top of the fast food chain. All the Harassment from the FEDS is giving them free advertising, and I would bet their earnings have risen lately.

He was at the peak of his career. Maybe God took him because he had done well, and God gave him his reward.

My heart goes out to his family and friends.

I grew up in that church and that’s something Chick-fil-A’s enemies don’t understand.
For “liberals’ politics is their religion while for Chick-fil-A’s Dan Cathy et al, first there’s God, and then there’s everything else: business, politics, sports, etc.
I suspect the same goes for the other similar denominations, Baptists, Church of God, and so forth, and I’m sure this will rouse the faithful—the Mormons too.
It’s a family thing. He’s in good hands.
