What's Really Wrong With Jesse Jackson, Jr?!
National Enquirer ^ | July 27, 2012

THE Rev. JESSE JACKSON is devastated over the headline-making mystery illness that’s struck his son, U.S. Congressman Jesse Jr. – and The ENQUIRER has learned the shocking cause of the tragedy.

“At first we thought he was simply exhausted,” said a source close to the family. “But after five weeks of extensive evaluation, doctors diagnosed Jesse Jr. with bipolar disorder.”

The serious mental condition is triggered by chemical imbalances in the brain, which propels sufferers from manic highs to depressive lows.

Some insiders point the finger of blame squarely at a gastric bypass operation the 47-year-old politician underwent in 2004 because it can restrict the intake of nutrients.

I wonder if he’s taking statins. They don’t often have neuro side effects, but when they do, they’re ferocious.

And are you satisfied with the results of the operation? Would you do it again?

Maybe he should get some of that stuff that put Obama in a daze for two years, just prior to getting in college on affirmative action.

The family spends night after night, year after year, worrying about the person, who may or may not be following treatment -- and who may be on the street or in some other dangerous situation.

Cry me a river.
You certainly have the appropriate name.

As much as sympathy may be fitting towards families dealing with mental problems, Congress is not the best destination for a nut job. There are way too many there already.

Hope on your next flight your pilot is not a product of your misguided promotion of "nut cases are just like the rest of us."
Give me a break!

“Ironically, it would be better if this was all a cover up for drugs or alcohol because at least he’d have more of a chance of getting his life back together if it was.”

It is probably just to dodge prosecution.

My guess is that he had a moment of genuine lucidity and honesty, realized he was a leftist democrat and succumbed to the mental illness that liberalism is...

A neighbor had a son in his 30's living at home. One day he took a baseball bat and broke every window in the house. At the hospital, he was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.

Usually an incident at home by a bi-polar (diagnosed or undiagnosed) person will precipitate a call by a frightened someone in the household to the police or paramedics. Perhaps a family member was suddenly committing inexplicable domestic battery, attempting suicide, trashing the house, going into fits of uncontrollable rage, whatever.

I'll bet there was something that happened with Jesse Jr. at home that triggered a frantic phone call for help by someone.....more than likely a phone call to a hospital where he could be brought by ambulance and remain hidden from the media rather than allowing him to be taken to a public jail by the cops who answered the call.

Yes and yes, and I did have some minor complications too.

A family member is considering this and has been trying to find out as much as possible before making a decision.
If it’s not prying what were the complications.

it was a stricture which is where they re-join the stomach and the intestines back together tries to grow back shut. They had to go in and stretch it open with a tool on the end of an endoscope.

You miss the point.

Bi polar is a plausible diagnosis to feed the press and suppress the truth. It invokes sympathy. It can’t be checked or verified. It is a home run lie.

I suspect that my mother in law was bipolar. She died in the late 70’s that was before all the drugs for disorders like that were commonly used. She could be a very nice person and then she would turn into an evil witch. She would wait until you said something that she could twist into an insult and then she would run screaming and crying to her room. I finally just gave up and stayed as far away as I could.
