Were on British soil, so I dont think I have an issue with this. It would be done out of respect for the host country, not to demean us. Are you not familiar with the official flag etiquette: "The American flag dips to no earthly king"?
The American flag has never been dipped to any individual or group since the founding.
Under certain circumstances, the flag may be lowered to half-mast -- but never dipped.
This amounts to a straightforward attack on the concept of "American exceptionalism".

"Is Wookie gonna curtsey to the Queen? Poor old lady probably got extra protection to avoid being being grabbed again" Can you imagine being manhandled by Moochelle? Her hands are the size of Christmas hams. They probably left bruises.

I wonder if part of this is to hurt Romney, given the supposed outrage over his comment(s) about the London Olympics not be ready.

Decisions like that are coming from our political/regulator elite—all parties, kinds of businesses and managers. They have romantic feelings about foreign nations while hating our USA.

Good job.
And yes if we can pressure them enough-—who knows.
This is all just so-—disgusting.
Every single day it’s one fight or another.

Honestly, if any of the Olympians from the USA do not understand WHY our flag never dips to ANYONE, I seriously wonder about having them “represent” the USA!!!!!!!!
To: Old Sarge
I know you would brother. And THAT is why this nation will survive. It may be hard for a while, but we WILL make it through this.
God bless all

We didn’t even dip the flag as a show of respect to Reagan at the 1984 Los Angeles olympics, but we should dip it to the UK? Anyway, it looks like we have already done it.
“American flag-bearers dipped the Stars and Stripes in 1912 at Stockholm, in 1924 at Paris and in 1932 at Lake Placid and Los Angeles, according to www.ushistory.org but refused to lower the flag to German Chancellor Adolf Hitler during the opening ceremony for the 1936 Berlin Games.”
