'There are some people coming from around the world who don't yet know if we are ready,' the Mr Johnson roared.
'There's a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we are ready. Are we ready? Yes we are!'
They are definitely not ready!
Boris Johnson is not a leftie. He is a conservative, albeit an English one.
I’m sure it was all in fun seeing that Romney was the guy that saved the 2002 games from going down in Olympic flames.

It was monumentally stupid for Romney to say what he did. The Left is all over it today. Insulting your host is always boneheaded. It’s crap like this that really worries me going forward.
Romney set himself up for this. If you are a major US political figure you do not go overseas and make a statement that can be regarded as insulting your host.

What a wrong footed foreign trip this has become. Some aide using the term “Anglo-Saxon” when a better term is Anglosphere since as John Sullivan just posted on NRO what brings GB, US, Canada, India, etc together are values and culture not race or ethnicity. Then Romney can’t help himself with a “look at me” statement. These British can’t get their act together but I saved the SLC games. Maybe he should spend his time in France since he claims that is his favorite vacation spot.

If any violence is attempted upon Mitt Romney, I think we will be able to trace it back to the use of such violent imagery by the editors of Politico.

I read his quote. It was nothing. Amidst widespread reports Britain is NOT ready, I’m sure he was asked if they are. In essence he said, we’ll see and the important thing is to see if all Britains come together for an olympic experience.
