Virgil Goode submits 14,000 signatures for ballot, with help from Independent Greens
Virginia Politics ^

Posted on 07/25/2012 6:30:17 PM PDT by mnehring

With a little help from his friends, former congressman Virgil Goode has taken a key step toward getting his name on November’s presidential ballot in Virginia, submitting more than 14,000 signatures to the State Board of Elections....

..Goode was a Democrat for much of his career, then became an Independent and finally a Republican for his last six years on Capitol Hill. Now Goode is getting assistance from yet another party, the Independent Greens, whose members have collected thousands of signatures for him....

...“Virgil supports rail, and that’s our big issue and he’s with us on that,” said Carey Campbell, a member of the Independent Greens executive committee. “We’ve had for many years a good relationship with the Constitution Party folks.”...

Your post makes no sense, Artcore.

During the Korean War it was possible for American units to be attacked by BOTH Chinese and N. Korean troops.

They didn’t shoot at one and ignore the other. They realized BOTH were enemies and had no qualms about shooting either.

I love Pennsylvania!

I hope Romney hands Obama his skinny A$$! ;-)

You are right, barry won’t have his teleprompter so you never know what brilliant, on the spot idea he’ll share. BUT he will have the questions in advance, don’t doubt it. And as back up he’ll have one of those nifty little ear pieces for someone to feed him answers.

Watch for long pauses while he waits to hear what the puppet masters have him say.

Your Post #13 is spot on.

At this immediate point, Goode could end up being to us what Ralph Nader was to the Dems in 2000.

“9,809,662 Republicans voted for Romney in all the state primaries, according to Real Clear Politics. I guess these Republicans are all wrong. There is a point here and I am wondering if you catch on.”

....and how many of these idiots mindlessly voted for Bloomberg without bothering to find out what he stood for just because he had an “R” behind his name?

14,000 sigs submitted and he needs 10,000 good/valid sigs

The Greens in my VA county are notorious for petitions that include signatures of pets, trees, wild animals, etc...

You go right ahead and vote for Goode. Obama thanks you.

It really boggles the the mind that you folks hold more contempt for Romney than Obama, even after what you've witnessed the Marxist do to our nation. Equally nauseating is the fact that you can make post after post without even mentioning Obama.

Sad.

That’s good....very good....but it’s missing something....

Aha!

Goode=Perot=Nader=Paul=Loser

We mustn’t forget my old “pal” Ron Paul......

I’ve said many times I will vote to fire Obama by pulling the lever for Romney, the only alternative.

Well, Goode was elected as a Democrat and served two terms as a Democrat before turning independent and finally running as a Republican. Sounds to me like a pragmatist, better known as an opportunist.

This thread is about Goode’s collecting his signatures for appearance on the Virginia ballot.

I would recommend that you hold your liberal candidate’s feet to the fire so he stops with the foolish dash to the left. Otherwise he’ll lose more conservatives than just me.

I have this theory that Romney, a radical liberal, was run in order to discourage conservatives and re-elect Obama.

In other words, insider Romney supporters are actually Obama supporters.

I’m going to vote for him because Mitt is a lying manipulative bottom feeding piece of trash.

So since you want another 4 years of Obama (actually the rest of our lives since once his policies are fully entrenched they would be virtually impossible to get rid of them) - what does that make you?

There's no logic in this. Romney is a placeholder. There is a 0% chance Obama getting re-elected will result in Obamacare being repealed and a whole host of other policies being halted that are merely being put, but you'd rather take a sure bet on damaging / ruining the country vs. not fully trusting Romney to not do the same things?

Yeah Virgil Goode is a rock rib Reagan conservative, that’s why he got on the ballot with leftists’ help in an effort to return communist Obama to the White House.

Virgil Goode is rat piss.

Marxist "Greens" love Goode, and he was an enthusiastic supporter of the Equal Rights Amendment (yes, you read that right, the N.O.W.-created monster the ERA) and also supported Douglas Wilder for Governor.

"Conservative" my ass. Goode is a phony.

Virgil Goode did what Gingrich, Santorum, and Perry were unable to do. He figured out how to get on the ballot in Virginia.

How do you do it?

You team up with the competition to gather signatures.

Pretty creative, I think.

BTW, Perry, Gingrich, and Santorum considered Virginia’s system unconstitutional and took it to court.

In short, Goode beat a rigged system.

They didn’t shove him down our throat...our voters chose him fair and square. It’s not the choice I made, but it is a choice the majority of conservative voters made on the whole and it certainly was not within him facing major obstacles along the way...he did not just get it by default. These choices were made simultaneously while the same voters overwhelmingly tossed long entrenched establishment figures in other races. Your comments time and time again simply defy logic, truth, and common sense. Why do you continue to post arguments and rationale you have to know are not true?

our voters chose him fair and square.

Hardly. He was chosen by only a third of the voters, at best, and they included crossovers and democrats bored because Obama was running unopposed.

He had a totally complicity media to include Fox News, the only conservative outlet. (And don't tell me otherwise...I know bias when I see it.)

He also buried his opponents with lies about their records due to a huge money advantage over them.

So, Romney has no more legitimacy as the nominee than I do.
