On the heels of Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy's controversial public comments against same-sex marriage, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino fired off a letter to Cathy, urging him to abandon plans to expand the fast food chain to his city.

Sounds like he WANTS a civil war.
Time for Mumbles to be replaced.
The response from the conservative should be solicit Chik-Fil-A and boycott Boston.
Is Boston in such a healthy state that it can turn away businesses and jobs?
I certainly won’t have any problem staying out of Boston.
Is that even legal? How is it up to city hall which private businesses are able to establish themselves in a particular location? Who made him king?
I am going to eat at Chick Fil A every chance I get from hereon and go to a city with an administration that is more in line with my beliefs. Boston is not it. Vetvetdoug.
Misuse of public office for sure. What a twit!
Yeah I was wondering that myself. Seems that the most they could legally do is zone him out but if he finds a location already zoned for restaurants the city will be out of luck.
I agree.
Left wing tyrants. If the people of Boston don’t want a CFA there they just don’t have to go there.
If no one goes, it leaves due to lack of business.
Left wing tyrants need to be stopped. They HATE America, the Constitution and freedom.
Rot in hell the lot of them.
This whole Chick-fil-A episode is the perfect example of how the left has taken control of the country.
In every poll I have seen, Americans oppose homosexual marriage, even California voted against it. Despite that, just about every powerful organization, the media, academia, etc. acts like they speak for everyone when they support it.
They attack the majority with impunity. They keep getting elected somehow. They have figured out how to game the system, sort of like the old corrupt trusts were able to control segments of the economy.
My first thoughts also. Many cities are hurting for cash. The best method of raising additional revenues is to have new businesses come into your city. This jackass just cost his city untold amounts in tax revenues all in a lame defense of probably less than .5% of his city's population. Not a wise move.
I’d think that a fitting response by Chick-Fil-A would be to open new locations in every one of the towns just outside of Boston’s city limits. (The closer to the city limits, the better.)
I was wondering that too. Common sense would say no one can stop you from doing business based on your religious/political beliefs, but getting a license to do business is a privilege, not necessarily a right. Wonder if any lawyers could weigh in on this.
The only Chick-fil-A I can find in Michigan is over by Detroit of all places.
How do ya like that, Detroit is friendlier to business than Boston.
There’s no outcry to close the place down. It’s just Menino pandering to the gay vote. Gays do vote and donate money and politicians like “Mumbles” do what they can to win their votes. I don’t even know if they actually care about the restaurant, but Menino does it anyway.
Any Mosques in town?
How did they get a permit, given the Mayor’s new standard for thought?
