Mitt Romney's campaign kept up the drumbeat of criticism Thursday over President Obama's "you didn't build that" gaffe, releasing a scathing web ad in which a New Hampshire business owner says: "President Obama, you're killing us out here."

Obama the Socialist/Communist has not mentioned that Government has no money to do anything without taxes It is our taxes both state and federal that built the roads, bridges, tunnels, schools, etc. Mr. Obama....American Taxes are responsible for what you say we aren't......however without jobs, there are fewer and fewer tax dollars to work for us.....I imagine you are aware of that fact but just don't want a Capitalist free society getting in your way of collective control of the citizens of America.

EVERY time Axelrod goes on TV and says Mitt's "you didn't build that" isn't working;

EVERY time the MSM begs, pleads and cajoles us to believe Obama doesn't think that way;

and EVERY time we see a bogus poll with over-sampled Democrat respondents; BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT IT IS WORKING!

If Mitt does not keep up the hammering, he is a fool. Kick them, hammer them, bludgeon them mercilessly while they are down, it's much easier that way.

Actually I’m a bit swayed in favor of Obama’s “out of context” argument vis a vis his “You didn’t build it ...” comment. Not completely, but a bit.

It is very possible that he uttered an ungrammatical statement (”that” instead of “those”) and he really meant that Steve Jobs et al didn’t build those roads and bridges.

But ... That’s just too bad Obama. You are now stuck with your own foolish statement which, out of context or not, fits like a glove with the rest of your anti-business rhetoric from the same speech.

Politics is a tough business. You have to be careful and not make big mistakes. It can cost you an election.

So? It doesn't make the stupidity of the comment any less. Does he mean that because the government built the roads and bridges (not really true anyway), it automatically made Steve Jobs a success?

I saw that story earlier today ("Democrats Plan To Go Nuclear..."). There was an FR thread on it, in fact.

I didn't see any complaints about "piling on" in the memo around which the story was written, however. All I saw was a frenzied attempt to change the focus of the story onto Mitt Romney by "DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse," who I've never heard of.

So you still "heard it here first."

It's debatable -- some of the other statements in the same context certainly portrayed successful businesses as not succeeding based on any merit of their own, after all.

Regardless, the reason this is so crippling to him and has such staying power is that no matter what he really meant to say, everybody -- and I mean everybody -- knows that deep down, this is what he believes and advocates for. It resonates. It tells the truth of the man.
