Steppin’ and fetchin’ for Obama.
A politician’s allies claiming he was taken out of context. Imagine that.
What’s scariest about this, as is often the case, is the set of comments. WaPo readers are frighteningly stupid, blind, hate-filled, irresponsible. Not news to us, but everytime I see this on display, I get scared to death of what lies ahead.
The fact that there are roads does NOT mean I didn’t build my own business. There have always been roads and they are driven on by businessmen and welfare cheats alike.
However, the businessmen pay for them!
Mr. Obama, I paid for this road!
I would like to thank the Wash Post for providing the full, uneditied quote. It’s even more damning than the Romney Ad.
No amount of spin can erase the collectivist ideaolgy basic to Obama and Warren. As others have posted, taxes on individuals and businesses pay for infrastructure, employees are paid market wages or better, etc.
You’re exactly right. This is a partisan cover-up, and an insult to readers’ intelligence.
Capitalist production, therefore, develops technology, and the combining together of various processes into a social whole, only by sapping the original sources of all wealth - the soil and the labourer. -- Karl Marx
If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Someone else made it happen. -- Barack Obama
Well, I’m sure that at some point, somebody by the name of “Brian Ross” was associated in some way with the Penn State football program, so ........ good enough for me!
There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me because they want to give something back. They know they didnt look, if youve been successful, you didnt get there on your own. You didnt get there on your own. Im always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.
"My attitude is that if the economys good for folks from the bottom up, its gonna be good for everybody. If youve got a plumbing business, youre gonna be better off if youve got a whole bunch of customers who can afford to hire you, and right now everybodys so pinched that business is bad for everybody and I think when you spread the wealth around, its good for everybody."
How many Pinnochios is that? If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If youve got a business you didnt build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didnt get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet. The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.
I just want you to be clear its not that I want to punish your success I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you that theyve got a chance at success too.
The Peasantry Don't Create Wealth
Chairman Obama Creates Wealth
I thought the original ‘Joe the Plumber’ discussion would have disqualified Obama from the POTUS. Apparently, 51.8% of the voters agreed with Obama. That is who we need to be concerned about, those that vote themselves largess from the treasury. We’re outnumbered.
PS I’m not getting in that boxcar! I have joined the resistance, the innovative and creative crowd that will prosper despite Big Government.
Even at this point, the USofA psyche is still driven by the entrepeneurial ideal based in history. School kids may not know Edison or Ford, but they do know their iPods and the Steve Jobs story. This Obama position may resonate with the statists BUT it will drive those who love the right to strive and the freedom to succeed TO THE POLLS!
Pot, meet Kettle. WaPo would NEVER take a quote out of context, would they?
Great pic!!
Øbama the populist has become a folksy/ebonicsy illiterate in his speeches.
He has been trying to sound "American" and "presidential" in recent days. Slap a Texas twang on him and he could be George W. Bush.
"There are going to be other days for politics," Obama said. "This is a day for prayer and reflection."
However, narcissist that he is, he was probably saying is that he is going to pray to his own reflection today.
The ad deceivingly cuts away from Obama speaking in order

Good! Beat the Dems at their own game. McCain would have never done this.
WaPo Fact.......OXYMORON
Not just in deed. Have we already forgotten his conversation with "Joe The Plumber"? [Note that he is being almost truthful when he talks about sharing the wealth--except it's not really what I would call 'sharing' but that's a topic for another day--then he makes a promise to small business owners which turns out is a lie.]
"Because my attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. If you've got a plumbing business, you're gonna be better off if you've got a whole bunch of customers who can afford to hire you. And right now, everybody's so pinched that business is bad for everybody. And I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody. But, listen, I respect what you do and I respect your question. And even if I don't get your vote, I'm still gonna be working hard on your behalf 'cause I want to make sure small businesses are what creates jobs in this country and I want to encourage it."JOE THE PLUMBER: A TRANSCRIPT Tampa Bay Times 10/19/08
