Deadspin ^ | July 22, 2012 | Sean Newell

Tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. in Indianapolis, the NCAA will reportedly announce how it intends to punish Penn State following its handling of the the Jerry Sandusky scandal. The penalties have been termed "unprecedented" and will be leveled at both the school itself and the football program.

According to Armen Keteyian, a source had "never seen anything like it."

Things are happening quickly, now.

Do you really think that Sandusky would have decided against raping boys if he would have only realized he might bring down an institution?

No.

Which is why it was incumbent on Penn State to act. They didn't. Boys continued to be raped. That is why we are having this conversation.

The idea of punishing the whole group for the actions of a few is nothing new. It makes the group police themselves, and makes the wrong-doers realize they have a responsibility to behave or else many will suffer.

See section 2.4 of the NCAA bylaws (page 4 for easy reference):

http://www.ncaapublications.com/productdownloads/D112.pdf

Individuals are not members of the NCAA. Institutions are. The situation at PSU is an explicit failure to adhere to a fundamental principle of the larger association. If they do not punish PSU, the NCAA is a meaningless association with laughable standards.

Unlike others, I'm not "angry". But I do believe in accountable organizations, and if the PSU football program (and yes, that includes fans and athletes) does not receive a penalty, the NCAA is essentially saying there is no accountability. I think it's a rather simple proposition.

Those whining about severe punishments are just as guilty of outsized emotion as the people who want the death penalty because Sandusky was a child rapist. It's not that he was a child rapist. It's that the highest levels of the university knew he was a child rapist and did nothing to protect victims for over 10 years.

None of them mention the local prosecutor who went missing after investigating Sandusky.

Excellent point---turns out the town where Ray Gricar---the missing prosecutor----was last seen is a known gay/pedophile haven.

Was Gricar lured there? Did he find out something damaging?

They found his laptop tossed in the river and the hard drive savagely destroyed---as if someone wanted to erase something important. Criminal wrongdoing, perhaps?

We need to remember that these are ruthless predators w/ no empathy for others and no remorse. Anti-social psychopaths who recognize no moral boundaries--aggressively going after what they want, irregardless of the consequences to others.

BE AWARE There is a HUGE push to normalize pedophilia---BY PLANNED PAR$ENTHOOD, NAMBLA AND ASSOCIATED GROUPS----they have been organizing for years.

When one pedophile surfaces, you can be sure there are many others lurking around. They gather in swarms to hunt kids....even going on kid hunts to toy stores.

Keep in mind, these evil souless predators are amazingly persuasive — and take pride in their ability to dupe people without displaying their true nature.

People are easily taken in by these calculatedly charming, persuasive predators. Pedophiles entice their victims by gaining their trust.......the same way they get people to cover for them.

What Joe Paterno did was unforgiveable---but we know how persuasive these predators are. The judge in the Penn State case actually let Sandusky go free---another sign WRT how easily predators dupe people into being their willing enablers.

.....forgotten and swept under the filthy degenerate rug, is that Sandusky, and his fellow deviants, passed around young boys for multiple rapings......a common practice in Hollywood and lots of other “gay” communities......

Good point.....even after he exited the presidency, Spanier and his wife were still on the PS payroll as tenured profs.

HUSH MONEY? M/M Spanier must have some hair-raising stories to tell about sex play on the PS campus.

Great post.

You are focused on the real problem. Many of the posters on the sight want to punish innocent people at the university who had nothing to do with this. They ignore the homosexual networks that supported and promoted both Sandusky and the continued exploitation and rape of young boys.

The NCAA can do whatever it wants to Penn State. And they both can go to hell. I don't watch any college 'sports'. Except if you count NFL Draft Day as 'college sports'.

And I watch that only to see which NFL team 'grabbed' the biggest functional illiterate moron who never went to one class and will be dead broke and homeless by the time he's 37.

And the 'college stars' not drafted by an NFL team will be on welfare with his girl friend and five kids when he's 24. Or a Junior in college - whichever comes first.

The latest buzz is Spanier "says" he's got a new govt job----at the super-secret govt agency---NSA.

Oh yeah, sure--like they need a "human sexualty" expert in the federal govt to hold wife-swapping orgies to enhance US ntl security.

=============================================

The majority of attention given to the Freeh Report has centered on figuring out Joe Paterno's role in allowing Jerry Sandusky to go unstopped. But the most actively nefarious character—--other than Sandusky himself—--is onetime PS prez Graham Spanier. Experts had already suggested that Spanier's actions could be brought before a grand jury.

Here are ten of the more reprehensible plot points from the Freeh Report, many of which support the notion that he could face criminal charges:

<><> Testifying to the 2001 grand jury he was unaware of the 1998 investigation against Sandusky, even though emails from 1998 show him discussing the investigation with athletic director Tim Curley and university vice president Gary Schultz.

<><> Repeating this claim to the Special Investigative Counsel, and stating he "never heard a report from anyone" that Sandusky was abusing children.

<><> Failing to notify the Board of Trustees that an investigation of a prominent assistant football coach was underway, withholding this information from them even while the board was considering (and approving) a favorable land deal between the university and Sandusky's Second Mile charity.

<><>Approving and pushing for Sandusky's emeritus rank—and the facility access privileges that came along with it— despite Sandusky not qualifying for it by the established academic rules.

<><>Declaring Curley's plan to suggest Sandusky stop hanging around children, without actual sanctions, to be "a humane approach" rather than contacting outside authorities to investigate suspected abuse.

<><>Telling the Special Investigative Counsel his first knowledge of the 1998 incident came at the April 2011 grand jury appearance, when notes from his Attorney General interview a month prior reveal he was questioned about it then.

<><> Approving an unprecedented $168,000 lump-sum retirement payment to Sandusky in 1999.

<><> Showing no interest in identifying the child involved in the 2001 incident or ascertaining whether or not a crime had occurred.

<><> Opposing any and all independent investigations into Sandusky's behavior.

<><> Modifying the November 2011 Board of Trustees statement without their knowledge or approval, asserting that Curley and Schultz requested administrative leave rather than that the board had actually decided to place them on leave.

Sounds like something McQueery would say. Or JoePa. You either know right from wrong or you don’t. There is no gray area here.
