His behavior doesn't add up
His behavior already reveals stark inconsistencies that question the mainstream explanation of events. For example, he opened fire on innocent people but then calmly surrendered to police without resistance. This is not consistent with the idea of "killing everyone."
Furthermore, he then admitted to police that his apartment was booby-trapped with explosives. If you were really an evil-minded Joker trying to kill people (including cops), why would you warn them about the booby trap in advance? It doesn't add up.
"Holmes was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, police said, adding he didn't resist when he was arrested," reports a local CBS news affiliate.
"After his arrest, Holmes told police about 'possible explosives in his residence,' Oates said. When police searched his apartment, they discovered it was booby-trapped and evacuated surrounding buildings, police said. Oates said bomb technicians are determining how to disarm flammable or explosive material in the third-floor apartment. He said police could be there some time."
None of this checks out. If you're a killer bent on causing mayhem, why tell the police about your surprise bomb waiting for them back at your apartment?
Holmes was clearly provided with exotic gear...

All he had to do was go to an estate auction to find all that stuff ~ cheap!
Having had a lot of experience with a mentally ill family member, a lot of the time their actions “don’t add up”. Their logic defies any rational explanation.
Just because they are mentally ill, doesn’t mean they can’t be smart. They can be extremely cunning and capable.
So, do you think that boot licking, incoherent, panty waste of a Governor would not just turn him over to the feds if Obama, Holder and Napolotano said so?
See my post #34.
The blogger pulled the $20K figure out of thin air, and he wasn’t an “unemployed medical student”: He was a Ph.D. student who’d been awarded a grant during his first year, and thus at least had leftover money from student loans, even if he didn’t (as is likely in the sciences) have a full-ride on tuition plus a stipend from the university.
“Because hes nuts?”
The author of this article or the shooter? It might apply in both cases.
However, there is one exception ~ just tell them "so and so is headed for the White House and we don't know what will happen".
Usually you'll get them back without bail provided you promise to take them to the nearest mental health outpatient clinic in the morning.
I"ve seen this done.
Now, if you don't have a White House around that could be a problem.
IMHO, the tear gas, mask, and armor betray his motives.
He began acquiring the weapons a couple of months ago.
He might not have fully thought things out until about a month ago.
If he simply wanted to kill alot of people, he probably could have picked easier forums to conduct that activity.
I suspect he had watched too many movies, like the Bourne series, or other vigilante films, thinking he could create hysteria, smoke, and SWAT response, then simply walk out in the mayhem without being challenged by appearing to be a first responder.
When things didn’t go fully the way he intended he simply surrendered. I suspect it was just for notoriety or publicity, but no intention of being threatened himself.
Fully premeditated with an intention to live through the event, possibly escaping in the mayhem.
It makes no sense at all to prepare to kill a bunch of people and then to buy nearly 100X the ammo than he could use or even carry.
Not familiar with the Colorado governor, but cannot imagine any reason why he or any federal politician would even consider doing such a thing. Quickest way to blow up a political career I can think of.
Since charges are handled on a local level, the only way the governor could interfere would be for him to pardon the guy.
You really think the governor would get out of the state alive?
Could be the story lodged in his mind.
Then there's Eric Rudolph ~ he set up "TWO FERS" ~ A small bomb or incident first, just enough to attract cops. Then a bigger bomb to kill cops. He almost got a bunch of them at the abortion mill but they set their doughnut box up on the far side of a trash dumpster, so when it went off they were protected.
The apartment bomb could have teen stage two.
and the training? I thought he was a dropout?
Easy when the gear only costs $1500 - $2000 tops, maybe less. The author of that $20,000 in gear estimate is completely off base. I'm talking journalistic negligence off.
One of the stories says the cops said he was carrying an incredible amount of ammunition.
You would do yourself well to watch the two news conferences this dolt gave yesterday. Both were filled with all kinds of foolishness that reminded me of something I heard a long time ago; Do you walk to work or carry your lunch?
That question made more sense than the blather that emanated from this dolt. He blamed it on a very long day, well the police chief did a very good job and I’ll lay everything I have that the chief had a far tougher day than the Governor did.
No longer any need to kill policemen and firemen after all those he did kill.....naw, it still doesn’t make sense.
So, let me see if I can review the bidding here. Your working hypothesis is:
1. The feds, at the direction of Obama & Co., are going to figure out a way to charge Holmes with federal crimes, including, perhaps, "terrorism" charges.
2. Having done that, the feds will somehow convince/browbeat the Colorado authorities into not bringing any state murder or attempted murder charges against Holmes, so that
3. If/after Holmes is convicted of the federal charges brought against him, Obama can then turn around and pardon him?
Is that pretty much where your, um, thinking has taken you, to this point? Uh . . . okay.
And people used to talk about "Bush Derangement Syndrome." Sheesh.
Yes, I did hear about the mother saying that about her son. We will see, or not.

He started failing at the one thing he was actually good at and the place he 'fits'. (it does make one wonder if Ca Universities are up to the same standards of others). He didn't want to die, he just want to be successful at something and he didn't want to go back to living with mom and dad. He wanted to hurt some people for all his long felt hurt and his failure. He is now the mass killer who has killed and maimed the mostest and he won't be living with mom and dad.
Furthermore, he then admitted to police that his apartment was booby-trapped with explosives. If you were really an evil-minded Joker trying to kill people (including cops), why would you warn them about the booby trap in advance? It doesn't add up.
It is also known that he left Techno music blaring in his apartment on loop. There are no reports that this was business as usual. I suspect he started out thinking somebody would complain or the mng or whatever would set it off and add to his mass kill numbers. I think he may have been sickened a bit after he shot up the theater. He stayed at his car near the scene and confessed what was at his apartment and offered no resistance. He also had the ammo to do MUCH more damage than he did. Perhaps he was beaten by himself by suddenly becoming overwhelmed with conscience, not the fictional charter of the Joker. Though the past Batman movie did make the Joker have reasonable points.

above
I also wonder if he didn't start off planning to shoot up his school but his access was removed once he started the withdrawal process. He didn't bank on that. He sat on his roof top and went to a local bar, always with his backpack in tow. I suspect he was plotting and gathering his nerve all along...
Batman is when he finally held his breath and stepped off the diving board. It was dark, that made it easier to go against his conscience.
“was really an evil-minded Joker”
They have doubts?
Prankster maybe?
