AURORA, Colo. (AP) — A gunman wearing a gas mask opened fire early Friday at a suburban Denver theater at the opening of the Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises," killing 14 people and injuring at least 50 others, authorities said.
The gunman, who is in custody, stood at the front of the theater and fired into the crowd about 12:30 a.m. MDT at a multiplex theater in a mall in Aurora.
"Witnesses tell us he released some sort of canister. They heard a hissing sound and some gas emerged and the gunman opened fire," Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said at a news conference.

The [unnamed] suspect spoke of "possible explosives in his residence. We are dealing with that potential threat," Oates said
Police were at the Denver-area apartment and had evacuated other residents of the building. Oates did not say whether any explosives had been found.
So why is the shooter's name being withheld from us ???? Was he a muslim terrorist ????
Yeah... interesting, isn't it. Remember when Loughner hosed down all those people in Tucson, the "media" frothed all over themselves in a rush to announce he was a "white male."

One source on Youtube claims the shooter is Mohammad Alum, an Iranian immigrant.
I suspect the killer is a muslim, because the FBI came out earlier with its cookie-cutter comment that “this has no links to terrorism.”
A name has been released, his last name is Holms or Holmes.
Denver Radio named him as James Holmes white male.
FoxNews reporting his name is James Holmes.
One source on Youtube claims the shooter is Mohammad Alum, an Iranian immigrant.
The suspect has been identified as James Holmes, 24 of Aurora.
Are we sure this isn’t some new Hollywood feature like Sensurround? “It was SO freakin REAL...Bain shot the guy next to me right through the head!”

If memory serves, some of the initial reports
involved two terrorists.
And, no doubt the brady bunch will be poppin’ up in no time. Did any of the victims look like they could have been one of uncle obies kid? Let’s see if he can keep his yap shut about this one. Probably asking too much huh?
Wonder if holmes is one of those types that adopts a moslem name when they convert. The police would happily do anything possible to avoid the terror link. Guess we’ll see.

Unlike some in here automatically jumping to the conclusion it was a muslim terrorist? But, yes, the left will claim he is a tea party member. Too much political opportunity in this tradgedy for them not to.
Oh no! I just got up to this, sigh. As soon as I saw the “Colorado movie theater shooting” breaking news in my mail I thought: Aurora. Sure enough. So sad.
On another note, I am currently reading FReeper Matt Bracken’s Enemies Foreign and Domestic. When I turned on Fox News (which I never watch anymore, ugh) this morning because of this happening, Dr. Michael Baden was commenting: we have to track guns, we have to track bullets, we have to track tear gas canisters. Every time there is a situation like this, it is predictable.
